Going down for EDC week (June 17th to June 23rd) and will be partying at the Wynn/Cosmopolitan most of the time if not at EDC or sleeping.

I'm booked at the Monte Carlo but I can get Linq for ~$100 cheaper through Total Rewards, and it is tempting. The rooms look awesome after the remodel, and I feel like it would be a slight step up from the monte carlo.

    Thoughts?

The one thing in the Linq's favor is proximity to Wynn.

I would like to see how the Linq's service is. The rooms might be nice, but from experience between MC and IP, the service at MC is still better.

I'm at MC in a week, so I may be able to say if the service is still good.

I'd go with the Linq. I just like that part of the Strip better. The Linq puts you right next to all the bars/restaurants and attractions in the Linq. [Maybe they could come up with a different name for the street that leads to the High Roller and the hotel/casino. It's confusing.] My stay at the MC a year ago was not great. The rooms were a little shabby and the casino was quiet. Linq casino is happening and just has more "buzz" than MC. It's a much shorter walk from Linq to Wynn than MC to Wynn.

Haven't stayed at the Linq, but I'd probably choose it in your case. The area is new and remodeled, plus you're splitting the distance better at Linq for travel to Wynn and Cosmo. I've stayed at MC several times on recent trips...it's good for the value and I have no complaints, but the rooms are aging. Not beaten up or trashed, but old. It's a let down when you compare the rooms to the work they're doing outside and on the floor. Internet connection on my last visit was sketchy. Enjoy the trip!

100% the linq. Location is great and the variety around it is much better. I've stayed there and loved the rooms and rest of the hotel. Will be there again in 11 days!

Thanks for all the input so far everyone! I'm kind of leaning towards the Linq to save a little bit of cash and try something new (stayed MC before). Any more opinions would be welcome, especially if you have stayed at the Linq!

I'm considering the Linq but I keep reading reviews that say construction is LOUD and bothersome in the room at all hours.

I would go for the LINQ for 3 reasons:

    - cheaper option
    - location in the center between Cosmo and Wynn
    - newly remodeled. Only thing I'm not sure about is the pool area. The pool area at MC is nice, I don't know if the pool area at the Linq is ready yet

I have stayed at MC and didn't find anything wrong with it. Decent pool, cheap eating and decent location. It is easy to get to the Cosmo from MC. Just go the back way as its attached to Aria and take the back doors at Aria and your right at Cosmo. It is quite a walk to Wynn though.

I have the MC booked for EDC weekend but I might be changing the dates to earlier in June. I was planning on going for a week and staying at the M/C just for the weekend to save some money and then moving to the Mirage or another hotel by the Mirage. I did this last time and had no regrets staying there. I did prefer the Mirage in a lot of ways but MC is fine.

I haven't considered the Linq but it looks interesting. They say the pool will open in March? How big will it be? I need a nice pool area and MC is the best cheap option I can think of.

I'd recommend the Monte Carlo. The Linq is interesting considering Brooklyn Bowl, Ferris Wheel etc. However, at the end of the day it's still a modernized, neutral version of the Imperial Palace. The MC is a walkway away from Aria and Monorail to Bellagio. The restaurants are better, and I like gambling there way better.

I would stay at the LinQ for a lot of the same reasons that others have said. The Pool will be done way before you go and most if not all the construction of the remaining rooms will be finished. Those are 2 things you won't have to worry about. I will be staying at the LinQ in May and i already have my G-String packed for the Pool.
I have stayed at Imperial Palace a few times over the years, the LinQ is a hundred times better than IP and the Quad ever was. I use to stay at the IP but hardly if ever played in the casino. But the last two times i was in Vegas (Aug-Nov 2014), i loved the new LinQ casino and the LinQ center. The LinQ Hotel/Casino/ Linq Entertainment center is and will be a great home base for you're trip. Walking to Cosmo and Wynn is ridiculously easy,

As a side note, you can use your Total Rewards # on your computer and hop into Social Rewards and gather rewards points. You can get tons of points to use on resort fees, food and drink, etc. I do it everyday and rack up points that are redeemed on my card to use in Vegas.

Any ideas what they are doing to the pool? Will it look the same as I see it on pics of the quad and imperial palace pool? Looked really plain and no shade.

Booked it and I will be staying at the Linq for my trip! Excited. I have been using social rewards for a few months now, up to $60 (and whatever I end up with when my trip comes around I will probably just apply it to the hotel balance). Plus stay at a Caesars property gives me the chance to build some reputation with them :)

Well, the latest from TR is the summer of 2015. I'm sure they will get it done in time for Memorial Day or early June. I also would imagine that if it isn't open by May, people staying at LinQ would be welcomed at Flamingo or Harrah's as long as you show your LinQ key.
