    My Trip Report

Every trip to Vegas has been a losing trip for me, so I'm proud to say that I finally left as a winner.

I planned a last-minute trip to Vegas that revolved around dining and shows. Stayed at the Bellagio for a few nights and lost a few thousands over there. Fortunately, it was less than what I normally would have lost so I wasn't too butthurt about it. On my last day in Vegas, I went to Aria for dinner and played some slots afterwards. Ten minutes before heading to the airport, I somehow hit a progressive on a penny slot... Pleasantly surprised to see a $5K win off a $2.50 spin too considering I got wrecked at the $5 slots at the Bellagio.

That's pretty cool on a $2.50 spin. Congratulations!

Great hit on the way out!

But I really hope this isn't truly your first winning trip is that number of trips to Vegas is right!

How much do you tip the attendant issuing the hand pay on that?

Awesome hit. But, remember, even losing trips to Vegas are winning trips on balance!

Congrats on your win! Not trying to hijack your thread but reminds me of what happened to me on a trip 2 years ago where me and the wife got our azz kicked the whole trip, we are low limit players and we had been there 5 nights and down 1000 dollars which is alot for us, the wife was in bed the last night of the trip and I was calling it a night as well when I hit max bet on a .50 machine for my last hand of the trip which I only had 3 credits left and I was like no way, I am playing max so I stood up and reached in my pocket and pulled out 1 more dollar ( this was on double deuces at Planet Hollywood by the way). Machine dealt me 3 of the royal and I quickly hold the cards and started walking away assuming I was going to lose the hand as I almost always do and as I was putting on my coat the bartender was trying to hi five me. Hit a royal on my last dollar! I was going home a loser and within seconds I won 2000. Called my wife and said "get your ass down here, were playing longer!):) the cool bartender gave me 2000 dollars worth of losing sports bet tickets to claim on my taxes. I never used them but was cool of him to do so.

For me it depends on where (up/down) I'm at at the time.

I have never tipped more than $100, and that was on a $12,000 jackpot.

On a $6,000 jackpot that brought me back to -$1,000, I still tipped $40.00

When you win such big jackpots, why do you have to call attendant? Do you have to file a tax form?

Sorry, I know this is a topic that has continuously been covered on the forums.

I tipped $20 to both attendants (the one who brought the forms and the one who gave me the cash). I would've tipped a bit more $40 each but it literally took 30+ minutes for them to come to me. Pretty ridiculous.. but I wasn't going to complain after that hit!

They find you due to the sound or the blinking "call attendant" light. If you're filing taxes in the US, you need to keep the W2G form for tax purposes. Not sure how it goes for int'l players.

Sadly, I've had maybe 15 leisure trips in the past 3 years and each trip has been a losing trip.
