OK we are back from Vegas and it is time to start planning our first Atlanic City trip. We will be flying into Philadelphia and staying at Caesars.

We would appreciate any suggestions on Restaurants at Caesars or in the general area and any other must sees while we are there. Thanks in advance

Apologies this is a duplicate I posted on an earlier thread last night but realized it might get lost.

    Thanks NCAAHoops for your suggestion.

When will you be in AC? How many days? Weather will play a roll in non-casino activities.

When down the Jersey Shore, we like to ride bikes on the boardwalk in the morning, weather permitting.

We will be there early March for 5 days. Weather concerns then?

It could go either way, but if it's windy and cold, biking could be unpleasant as March comes in like a Lion and out like a Lamb. If you're at Caesars, the Pier Shops have windows all along the south side of the pier, I can't think of a better place to grab a morning coffee and watch the waves rolling in. I'm a big fan of Harry's Oyster Bar at Bally's, we've been there for happy hour a couple of times, not sure if they still have buck a shuck oysters. Had some kind of flatbread with shrimp and arugula that was awesome as was the Dark and Stormy cocktail. We also liked the 100 year old Knife and Fork restaurant, it's a short cab ride away but not part of CET.

There are several but in Caesars specifically you should try out Buddakan. Its an Asian fusion type restaurant, a smaller version of their NYC one and is similarly hip with a good menu. Make sure to get the wasabi mashed potatoes and enjoy their cocktails as well. They have a Mortons that is good as well and you can get a table in the bar/lounge area if you want a more lively atmosphere. I also like Souzai, only had sushi there but it was very good. They've opened up a casual new Gordon Ramsey but I haven't been there.

If you want to do a buffet do either the Borgata or Harrahs, those are the best and most popular. You can use your 7* card to get an automatic black card at Borgata (you get that with diamond in fact, with 7* you may get their highest card "titanium" but I doubt it). This will not only let you bypass lines at Borgata but give you access to a really nice lounge with a full bar and a lot of food for 10 comp dollars. You can also use it to go to the buffet for only 10 comp dollars.

Watching the waves over coffee sounds awesome. In Vegas I like to open the windows and look at the mountains while drinking coffee and updating my trip report. Will definitely have to try the shops. I'll look up Harry's and Knife and fork. We are not oyster fans so might pass on that one depending on what else they have.

    Where do you prefer playing?

Thanks for the suggestions. We love Thai, Vietnamese, Korean and Chinese so look forward to trying Buddakan. Do you suggest reservations? I will look up Souzai as my wife loves sushi, NOBU in vegas is her favorite. I am sure they have something a non sushi guy can eat.

Interesting about Borgatas lounge and buffet. Wife is Diamond so we could both get black cards, play enough to get some comp dollars then hit the buffet and lounge. Should we plan to make a day of it?

I am getting excited about the trip. It will be nice to try somewhere new.

Yes, make reservations. You can make them right on OpenTable from your phone on that day. For Souzai you can look at their menu online, they have a number of hot entrees as well.

I think if you have the time you should definitely make a day out of Borgata. The quality and atmosphere is far beyond anything else in AC, its as good as the good places in Vegas. They also have a ton of great VP which I think you mostly play and if you give them some action you may be staying there comped next time if you come back to AC.

By the way the Diamond lounge at Caesars in AC is probably the best diamond lounge I've ever been in. It overlooks the ocean, has a nice bar, and good food. Only problem is the hours are kind of limited (not sure exactly what they are) and the lines can get long because there are a shit ton of diamonds in AC. But as a 7* you may have another line or can walk right to the front. I don't know if there is a separate 7* lounge.

Harry's Oyster Bar in Ballys. My other two favs are apparently closed now. There was a fancy Italian place we liked in Showboat and for a lower priced option, we always enjoyed the House of Blues.

I dunno if the Caesars Buffet has improved but we have eaten there twice and I considered the Harrahs Buffet by far superior.

We did AC in March several years back. Was cold enough to need a coat (not a jacket) the 3 days we were there, so keep an eye on the weather and have some cold gear handy if you want to spend time on the boardwalk.

There is a 7 Star lounge that is separate from the Diamond Lounge. The Diamond Lounges in AC offer a full buffet unlike Vegas. But if you are 7 stars, that lounge is the way to go.
I like KWI Noodle house in Caesars for Chinese.

We decided to try Borgata while we are there. We will probably spend most of a day. Getting our itnerary together and I will make dinner reservations instead of just showing up.

    Thanks,

We will check the weather but will be sure to bring a jacket just in case we are out at night. Looking forward to the trip.

I'll look into it. We usually hit the Beijing Noodle 9 at Caesars LV so hope it is similar. Thanks for the suggestion.

We are low rollers and played at Tropicana, but started to feel the slots getting tight, now we are leaning towards Bally's. Minimal play will get us free rooms at Bally's or Harrah's Sunday-Thursday and occasionally a Friday night. We recently went to the Borgata and really liked the vibe, it's the best of the bunch. We rarely do buffets, but the Waterfront Buffet at Harrah's is pretty awesome. A friend went to the Borgata buffet for lunch and was disappointed. Go figure. Harry's is very casual and mid-week crowds are sparse but serves great seafood.

Docks Oyster House is a must do for me every trip. Top notch service and seafood. Old school vibe. Do it.

Thanks for the input. We are planning a day over to Borgata. Is it best to taxi or take Caesar shuttle to Harrah's, check it out the walk to Borgata, taxi back?

I think shuttle to Harrah then taxi between borgata and Harrah. March is usually still pretty cold, don't think you wanna walk between borgata and harrahs.
