So I was at Flamingo at their High Limit Room and I saw a table that was 6/5. Why is this infecting the higher limit tables? I asked the pit boss and he said they are trying out one table to see how it performs. I hope they yank that crap out soon as in tonight.

What's your thoughts and I know it won't be pretty?

Agreed but as long as there are suckers that will play it the demise of the real blackjack table will continue. I for one will stand strong against 6/5 and stick to craps or the sports book!

Sadly this is true. If people are playing it, why wouldn't they continue to put out more 6:5 tables?

OP, did you happen to see what the minimum bet was for the 6:5 table?

This is another reason that CET is a piece of crap. Are you freaking kidding me?!!

    You're killing me Smalls.

+1 to that. Go blow $10k at a 6/5 table and they might give you a free buffet, while someone penny pushing $200 through a slot will get the house. :poke:

They seem oblivious... maybe that's what led them to bankruptcy. Bets on how many years before they file again??

    Ughhhhh.....

I feared the day would come where they just wanted to "test" it. I just didn't think it would be this soon.

I guess it's true - winter is coming.

Here's video of one black chip bettor that doesn't mind 6:5 (or splitting10's for that matter)

The reality is that these games will get worse and worse, and will creep into more and more areas unless and until people stop playing them (which won't happen, because people are stupid in general). I was shocked when I saw that Wynn/Encore hit soft 17 on ALL of their double deck games. There are alot of high limit blackjack players that won't go there because of that, but I think they make most of their money from Baccarat their so they just don't care. As far as CET properties, they are just trying to seperate people from their money as quickly as possible, so it's best to just stay away. I believe that all but 1 table at Cromwell is also 6:5 .

    The table limit was $100

EDIT: I promptly left and told them I will be taking my action to MLife casinos and walked straight to Bellagio where I had a fantastic run.

Just out of idle curiosity when did 6:5 BJ hit the strip and who was the original perpetrator?

What a fucking joke. I don't play anywhere near $100/hand and there are still many good games to be had not far away at lower limits.

The other table was at $50 and it was 3/2. The pit boss did say it was put in today and is only on a test basis. They said it could go back to normal very soon if people don't play. But still it's starting to creep. I refuse to play any high limit blackjack if it is 6/5 or support a casino that will be promoting this at that level

Good for you. We need to make it very clear to them that we have choices that are in walking distance.

However, you are probably the minority.

They probably had several suckers playing it after I left. At that level you would think people would know

Good for you! Let them know why you leave - I believe that is as important as not playing.

There are always people that have more money than brains. I was playing BJ at Palazzo and the guy next to me split his 10s against a face betting $5K a hand. He pulled an 18 and a 19 and the dealer had 20.

You got it right in telling them why you were taking your business elsewhere! This 6/5 stuff has got to stop but unfortunately it is true that there are many people out there with more money than brains...

I personally enjoy walking by an empty 6/5 table and the dealer or boss asks me to "come sit and play a few hands" to which I reply "Nah I'm okay I'll save my money for a casino with real blackjack at 3/2." Almost always happens at CET, then I take my money to an MLife property and deposit it at the 3/2 rate haha.

People with the money to play $100 a hand and dumb enough to play a 6/5 table are prime candidates to become victims in a ponzi scheme.

I feel nothing but schadenfreude for the suits at CET. When I play BJ on strip it is NEVER at CET. About the only thing I find myself doing at a CET property is visiting the Forum Shops at Caesars.
