Being a high Diamond for a few years with a decent ADT/Theo, I have received lots of great offers - rooms, meals, suites, tickets, charters, gifts, and lots of freeplay. They seem to be drying up considerably. As a result, our trips have slowed way down. No more quick trips for us.

As a result, I am saving thousands and thousands of dollars. Thank you very much.

I am sure your accounting types could use the type of donations I once made, now that things are tight. I have no idea how many others are in the same boat as me. If there are lots of us suckers like us, it is not going to be pretty for CET.

Thanks for all the great times - in the past. Time for us to get a life.

My last trip I didn't spend one second inside a CET property. Think that was the first time I had ever done that.

I've been a pretty solid CET customer for years, but this is the first trip I'm seriously considering giving mLife some play and seeing what comes out the other end. Platinum benefits went away, and the mLife rooms seem to be nicer than the ones CET offers. I have almost $400 in Reward Credits to burn at Caesars this trip, and I think I might use them all at the pool.

I would think that if you like CET properties I would wait until the bankruptcy is finished, and then see what they do with your offers.

Should you burn CET? Not necessarily. But the moves they are making now are an indication of how they intend to operate after they complete bankruptcy. They surely are not tightening up their comps just to get themselves to the other side. When something like this happens, it's a good time to reevaluate why you are doing business with whom and if it's in your best interest to continue to do so. And I mean that whether you've been rolling with CET or someone else. You may end up with the OP and make fewer trips. You may end up like me and find that your business is appreciated more elsewhere.

Such movements are similar to when your phone contract is coming due.....what is the coverage of the other companies in view of where I live or travel?....what is the limitation? if any in data usage? Obviously how much $? Bottom line we as consumers are constantly comparing what is what and what was it when.....I too grow comfortable and hate change unless pressed to by the company (in this case casinos). They can obviously maintain a loyal clientele without too much up front losses. Someone will benefit by one group going down in the offer category and we can then see how that effects the business at other properties.

Resort fees for comp rooms in Atlantic City tripled as of Feb 6th according to TR when I called the other day. After my Friday trip, I'm done with CET. Been a loyal member for years and while it's not the money it's the principle. Fees went from 13 to 35 a night for a comp room, but they assured me free wifi. Yay? Aggrivating to say the least. I heard the fees went up even more in Vegas

I heard the same thing. The AC boards are going nuts over this. A free room in vegas is comped + resort fees. In AC you still have to pay the taxes and a fee. Even as a Diamond player it was $13.00 a night on top of the comped room. But they just added a $25 resort Fee Plus the taxes and added fees making your comped room in Atlantic City nearly $40.00 per night unless you are 7star or Diamond. Thats crazy!

CET in AC is saying they are moving that market in line with vegas as far as resort fees go. It sucks that they are common place in Vegas but if you ever go to AC the Borgatta, which is far and beyond anything CET has ANYWHERE is a $5.00 resort fee. So CET making theirs $25 is just crazy. A ton of players are just going to stay and play at their local casinos VS spending $150 on a "free" room for 4 nights.

    Isn't Borgata aligned with MLife?

It was a joint venture by MGM and Boyd, but they created a new players club that is separate from both.

That's correct, Borg is essentially on its own now if you will.

@ Grid, you're correct unfortunately and it's shameful that CET is doing this.

I imagine that if your past warrants it, that the resort fees would be comped.

Borgata comp dollars can be transferred to Boyd property comps ($50 minimum). You used to be able to change them for WYNN and MLife, but that ended two years ago.

As for CET, they really screwed up in AC and closed their only boardwalk property operating with a profit (WTF? - Showboat). They have tightened up the comps and are bleeding money.

I'm most likely staying with CET unless 2 things change

    1) I can book 5 comped rooms in a row at my level. MGM gives me 3 upfront at most.
    2) I can book my March Madness trip 6+ months out

I'm sure these issues go away if I had a host, but I don't play that much.

A third huge plus for me, but not a deal breaker is CET is simply easier to book. MLife wants me to call all of the time.

I hear you! I have been a Seven Stars (high) guest for three years now with CET. Last year I had something like 430,000 tier credits. So far this year, I have 9,000. I will probably go for the 80K triple diamond thing instead. My offers are embarrassing and my host has not been great either. I went back to Cosmopolitan. They greeted me with open arms and very good free play!

This is what I did with Mlife. I was a decent Platinum card holder with them in 2013. CET started upping my offers so I swung my play and landed Diamond pretty fast. I fell to Gold with Mlife but after this debacle I emailed my host at Bellagio and he said he would double my corporate offers if I stayed with them again. It would help to get me back in action until my corporate offers catch up with my previous level of play. I had a few lower rating days with them as I popped in for a few hours while staying, and mostly playing, at a CET joint in town.

This should be an embarassment to them. And the cost of paying people to man the phones makes it beyond stupid...

For as big as they are they have always sucked with online booking for comps. I'll never understand it. When they switched the Mlife thy touted all the awesome things we would be able to do online. The only bright side is when i call to book an offer using a code i pulled on the site they sometimes find a better offer that was email/snail mail or just sat in my account that I can use instead.

It is kind of sad. I had really built a rapport with the employees (my old host who just left after having a baby) and so on. But I have found the machines to be super tight and with little free play...... on I go
