Hi, any idea what date the Luxor pool will be closing this year? I heard somewhere it will be the 9th November. Can anyone confirm?
I don't think they ever have a "set in stone" date. Especially this far in advance. I would be very surprised if it was open into November. They usually make the final decision later in the season when the temps start really changing.
I like the Luxor but the problem I have is unless that place is absolutely packed they always have half of the pool closed - even when I was there in August the back half of the main pool was roped off.... it Vegas, it's Summer - let the folks spread out a bit!!
I was at the Hard Rock a couple years ago and we were there on the last day of the pool being open- mid October. And that is one of the busiest pools. I would be shocked if Luxors was open into November
I was at the Luxor on November 18 last year and the pool was closed; they had a sign inviting people to the excalibur pool which i believe is year -round (and actually not bad, i thought. ..but I'm not one of those pool people)
The pool was still open October19-24 of this past year. As Andy said though half of it was roped off even though it looked quite busy.
In Las Vegas almost all the hotels that close their pools for the winter do it mid to late October and because they have to think about scheduling and staff (attendants, life guards, cleaners, waitresses, pool shop, etc) they don't do it on a day-to-day basis where if the weather is really good they'll stay open at least one more day - they'll come up with a firm closing date some time in late September or early October based on how the weather is trending. But as was said: Excalibur keeps their pool open in the winter and as a guest at Luxor you would be allowed to go use that pool (years ago it was Luxor that kept their pool open during the winter months and it was the same back then for Excalibur hotel guests).
I just stayed at Luxor a few weeks ago and the pool was still pretty trashed with the reno going on. It should be open again by Memorial day. I read a link on their LGBT pool party on another site.
