Deals for over 55's

We were quite amused to see that being 55 or older seems to qualify you for OAP (Old Age Pensioner) status in some places in Las Vegas

So where are the best deals for us over 55's?? Where can we save a few $$ so we have more to spend on other things in Las Vegas??

 

How about the over 50 club? I understand some places recognize over 50 as being a senior?

 

The downtown grand has half off food at the S-O and I think you get five times slot points on Thursdays if you are 50 and older. They also had a free slot tourney but I don't know if that was still going.

 

Suncoast has Young at Heart at 50. Discounted buffets, discounted movies etc

 

Stations and Fiesta casinos have a Wednesday senior day ( over 50), half point bowling, half point movies, half point Bingo, Ten times the points etc. The Palms also has a senior day which I believe is on a Wednesday, cheap buffet etc. Sam's town or Boyd's properties also have a Wednesday senior day. Get 50 points, which is very easy to do, get a free breakfast or lunch buffet. Otherwise, its bogo. All of these are off the strip properties

I'm sure Gold Coast has some deals. I frequent the buffet and the clientele is so old Tortoises are envious.

 

All the off strip Coast casinos have senior days with many discount including $4 movie tickets.

Been a couple of mentions about the Downtown Grand. It was a great deal when we played there in December on a Thursday. Racked up food credit faster than we could use it thanks to the 5x points, and also a fair amount of free play. Also got the $5 match play. The 50% S+O discount was and still is offered.

Entirely different situation a few weeks ago when we stayed and played there. We didn't get the $5 match play, and the free play and food credit was determined only on "base points" rather than total points (base plus bonus). No one at the Player's Club could tell us what the bonus points were good for, and we saw absolutely no benefit from them. As far as we could tell the bonus points are worthless. Evidence of that was that in December the place was crowded with locals on Thursday, while a few weeks ago there was little change from Wednesday's light weekday crowd. Anyone know what the bonus points are currently good for?

 

The Club55 benefits at 4Q include 20% discount on food and hotel rates. Even travelling solo, I'll save around $10 at Hugo's and Chicago Brewing.

 

That one's still good, I was there last week. Just a heads up though, they usually have a large line up on Wednesdays between 5:00-6:30 so avoid those times.
