Just wanted to say I got my FIRST FREE ROOM OFFER ever! Used my airline points for the flight, free room (still gotta pay resort fee but hey), and I'm hoping to make it an epic couple of days lol. Anyone know if the sandwich trick will work at MGM with comped rooms?

If they have upgraded rooms available and the desk clerk is feeling nice it may work. Just depends on how many rooms are available and how is your check in clerk feeling that day.

If you're getting a room with one bed, you can try and it might be worth it.

If you're getting a room with two beds, I'd advise against it since the only rooms that you can upgrade to are "Stay Well" rooms. I used the $20 trick on a comp room and it worked, except I was upgraded to the Stay Well floor.

We got our first free rooms this year also. Mirage sent us a flyer for 2 free nights Sun - Thurs, when I called they told me that we had another offer for 2 free nights anytime. Woo Hoo a free Saturday night, makes me wish we were coming in on Friday now just to be able to use the free night on Friday instead of Sunday.
I'm really not sure why they gave these nights to us, I don't think we gambled more the $300 - $400 there last year. I figure it probably won't happen again so we HAD to plan a Vegas trip just to use the comp.

    Great!!!

We have received free room offers from the DT casinos for the past few years, but this is our first comp at a Strip hotel! Can't wait until April!!

I'm glad to finally be a part of the legion momnkid, lol. I have a king bed in the (forgot but I think its grand room?) I specifically asked to not be in west wing. Had to stay there last April....

I'll definitely try it. Anything specific I should ask for? Or just ask for any free room upgrades?

Actually the later you check in the better luck you have with the $20 tip at the counter because now they know what extra rooms they have for that check in day.

Once we checked in at the Airport (don't think they have that anymore) for MGM Grand around 11 pm and slipped the pretty girl a nice crispy looking Andrew Jackson while asking for a room with a nice strip view as this was our first trip to Vegas..........we ended up on the 28th floor overlooking NYNY......it's been our best upgrade to date.
