Bowling at the Orleans

We will have a car this time around and two teenagers in tow ages 16 and 14. How's the bowling over at Orleans? Pricing is cheap! How far is it from the strip driving time? We are staying at MGM

OMG. Have stayed many times at MGM and driven over to the Orleans. Once you get to your car in the parking lot at MGM I would say no more than 10 minutes. The Orleans also has a great movie theatre.

You should call and ask when they have league play going on. They also sometimes have private events and you can't just walk in and bowl. Both of those have happened to us at the Orleans, so think about checking in with them regarding the specific timeframe you have in mind.

It's about 5 minutes once you are on Tropicana Ave. I've bowled there many times with my kids. Nothing fancy but lots of lanes. There are usually a few lanes open even during leagues. If not, there is also bowling at the Gold Coast, a mile north on Flamingo Rd. or down at the South Point.

 

The Gold Coast is usually a bit less busy but both places are very well maintained. South Point is definitely the best though, a bit farther away but hey you've got a car!

probably no more than 10 to 15 minutes (during rush hour traffic) to get from MGM to the Orleans.

As others have mentioned, call the alley to make sure that lanes are available. most times they are but sometimes they are blocked off due to leagues or tournaments. Also as others have mentioned, go during the off hours, they are probably a dollar or less a game during those times. I practiced for a tournament there, got there before 8:30 am and pre paid for my games and they were only a buck a game (or was it 50 cents, I forget).

I usually park in the west side of the Orleans and walk my ball into the casino, easy to find the escalator to get up to the alley.

The Gold Coast is also not very far from the Orleans and is a decent place to bowl, similar set up to the Orleans. South Point is a lot farther to get to but I heard they just opened a new wing and new alleys. You can also drive to Sam's town and bowl. There are lots of alleys in vegas, Red Rock looked the neatest IMHO, they have a private 10 lane area for the VIP's, complete with free drinks and snacks.
