I have only been to vegas a few times and play various table games, but I love roulette;not sure why. I'll be heading to Luxor in May/June.
I realize the odds are terrible on Roulette, but I only bet 2 columns at a time and I do ok.
Does anyone else bet like this?
I realize there is not a lot of love for this game, but I enjoy it.

    Thanks

I like roulette as well. It is a silly game. However the outside bets would bore me to tears. I like to play the numbers so when you hit one they push you a huge pile of chips. That is where the fun is for me.

I do this method. However, on single 0 roulette, try the Paytriple method. Saves you 150 when the 0 hits. However, this is not the case at V/P since you don't half your money on the outside bet.

Ok, stupid question: What is the Paytriple method?
I realize there are not many european roulette boards in Vegas, or are there?

I played this way a few years ago--the good thing is, it doesn't alter in any away the odds of the game...here is a quote from the Wizard of Odds section on double-zero roulette:

"The house edge on all bets is 1/19, or 5.26%, except for the 0-00-1-2-3 combination, which carries a house edge of 7.89%."

The bottom line is that if you enjoy playing roulette and the house advantage is acceptable to you, play it any way you want! I enjoyed meeting different roulette players in long evenings/nights playing this way and I lost pretty much the standard amount of the course of the trip. I had some good and bad runs, just like I do when I play other ways.

My current way of playing roulette is different--I place $10 or so on the 17 for five spins and then leave.

I didn't invent this method of play, but since I introduced it to the Board, the guys call it that.

This method only works on a single-zero, European rules table.
I learned this from Juan, a dealer at the Cosmo. He is a great guy who knows how to really play roulette and he was the one who commented that I could bet 3 units to cover the 1-18 or 19-36, and then 1 unit to cover another 6 numbers (a double street bet) to cover 24 numbers in total, instead of just betting the columns or dozens. Playing this way reduces the house edge from 2.7% to 1.6875%, for the exact same payout. The reason for the lower house edge is that if a zero comes up, you get half your money back on all outside bets. So you get 1.5 units back on the 3 units covering the 1-18 or 19-36 outside bet.

I first described this in my Halloween Trip Report.

Such a fun game like craps when everyone at the table wins on a roll/spin and then that same number repeats!.Great interaction with complete strangers..
and speaking of the 0/00, That's my favorite play now.Years ago it seemed like a bad thing when first just fooling around playing the outside and here people don't get pissed if you're pounding the 'darkside' when it hits.
To each his own though, just have to walk away with a profit before playing too many 'one more spin' or 'just the rest of this stack'...so tough to do.
I now buy in and ask to be paid in real chips that go off to the side or in pocket to force myself to save some profit.Dealers always cool about it if you are tipping a couple bucks on wins.

So is there anywhere where I can find real results of roulette spins from a casino instead of playing free games on the internet?
Just am curious to know what numbers, for example, would be 20 spins from a casino.
