Table Games Blackjack Survey question

I'm headed back to Vegas for the first time in over a year in April and I couldn't be more excited. We're staying at the Mirage for the first time and I was curious about their blackjack rules.

http://wizardofvegas.com/guides/blackjack-survey/ says that the Mirage only has 4 3:2 blackjack tables. Am I reading that correctly? Sadly my bankroll isn't as big as I'd like it to be and I was hoping to find $10-$15 3:2 blackjack as 6:5 is ridiculous and I refuse to play it. Does the survey only list certain 3:2 tables that meet other requirements as well? Or will I be in a rage when I arrive and only see an ocean of 6:5?

 

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll have much luck finding a 3:2 game at the $10-15 range. Last time I was in Vegas I only saw the nice 3:2 rules at tables of $25 or more, more specifically at $50-100 tables (Aria, Cosmo). Sounds like we share a similar bankroll and minimums desired. I used to refuse to play 6:5 when I was in the desert until I realized that it was either that or not play. I definitely don't play as much because of it, but I truly haven't noticed much of a difference in my losses, winnings since playing it. Downtown casinos even have transformed to 6:5 in most cases.

 

Plenty of 3/2 downtown, even at $5 - $10.

 

Serious, downtown is now 6:5?

I'd try LINQ, Hooters, riviera, Circus Circus Ellis Isalnd as a starting point for 3:2

I knew there are always places you can find 3:2 blackjack with low limits if you know where to look. It was just shocking to me to see that the Mirage only has four 3:2 tables in the entire casino (if I'm reading it correctly).

 

You can get 3:2 blackjack at Bellagio and Aria during the day for less than $25 if you don't mind playing with a CSM. I'm usually there on weekdays so if you're there on the weekend it may be different.

 

Yep. You can always find 3:2 BJ downtown, even on weekends.
You might check TI on the strip.

 

You can find 3:2 blacjack for $10 and up most of the time @ Bellagio / MGM assuming u dont mind CSM.

 

3:2 available at Harrahs at least it was in November in the area between Craps tables and Hotel. Not sure on limit as I don't play much BJ but I think I recall my DW mentioning $10 BJ at 3:2

 

i specifically asked on my last trip and all of the BJ at Aria is 3:2, though not all with favorable rules (H17, no DAS). Most were CSM. As mentioned above, the limits are low during the weekdays.
If you step up to $25 you can play 6 deck 3:2 form a shoe with S17, DAS

 

Harrahs had 2 or3 $10.00 tables (3:2) in the mornings last weekend.

 

...or, one could take a 5 minute free-shuttle ride from Bally's to Gold Coast and play double-deck 3:2 pitch, H17, DAS permitted...for $5 & $10 mins, 24/7...

 

I'm going to do that next time. Only played a pitch game once..lots of fun - eventhough it was at Circus Circus

Mirage has one decent BJ pit area, but minimums range from $25-$50. Your best bet for a decent red chip ($10-$15) game near the Mirage is Bellagio, TI or Wynn.

The best Strip $25 game is in the high limit room at Bally's, MGM and Bellagio: 6 Deck 3/2, DAS, Surrender, Stand 17.

Aria, Bellagio, MGM, Mirage and TI offer double deck games with the same rules (except no Surrender) at the $50-$100 level.

 

3:2 are becoming harder and harder to find, especially at the bigger strip casinos. I know on the main gaming floor at the Linq (not high limit) they only had two 3:2 tables. One $15 minimum and one $25 minimum. $15 was always packed, $25 was always dead but they refused to bring the limit down. Didn't stop me but it did stop some people I was with

 

Can you explain CSM ?

 

CSM stands for continuous shuffling machine. Basically instead of setting all of the cards that have been played in hand a hand into the side tray until you reach the cut card, they are instead fed back into the CSM where they get shuffled back into all of the remaining cards.

 

USC is correct.
It makes the game uncountable...but, if you don't count cards, (which is the case for most folks), it is actually a very good game for the basic strategy player...better (statistically) than a standard 6-deck shoe.
The house is willing to give up that minor edge because they get more hands dealt per hour...which is always better for the house.
Of course, all you need to do to defeat that particular edge is to slow-play, sit out every 4th or 5th hand, take frequent restroom breaks...that sort of stuff.
Trust me - they won't care if you do that. They know you're not 'wonging'.

 

Whoa whoa whoa. Let's not go overboard here. There are still plenty of places on the strip that still have $10-$15 3:2 BJ tables.

Treasure Island is your best bet. They always have plenty of $10 3:2 games. 6 deck shoe or double deck (only their single deck game is 6:5).

Harrahs always has $10 and $15 games. They recently switched back from 6:5 to 3:2 in their main low limit BJ pit. So they definitely deserve some kudos.

Bellagio (my favorite place to gamble) also will always have tons of $10 and $15 games. They are CSMs, but in reality that doesn't mean anything....

Flamingo, Ballys, MGM Grand will also have $10 3:2 games, but more often they will be $15.
