I've been meaning to post this since before the holidays, enjoy. December 9th I had a trip to So. Cal set for business. I decided to fly SW thru McCarran on the way. My meetings were near Temecula & San Diego, so I decided to try flying into Ontario. As luck would have it, my itinerary gave me a 3:55 layover in Vegas. Luckily my 6am flight out of RDU was uneventful and early into LAS arriving at 7:45am PT. I quickly got my bag, and cabbed it to Monte Carlo, arriving there around 8:15. I dropped my bags, and headed over for a Bloody Mary at the Bar in front of the Sports Book. I dropped $20 into the .25 DDB machine, and after 3 pulls I hit a full house and 3 OAK. I got my money out + around $10. Then, I headed over to the 3 Card table. After 30 minutes or so playing heads up most of the time against the dealer, I cashed in up $80. I walked around the tables for awhile, and unsurprisingly, they were pretty dead that early in the AM at Monte Carlo. I decided to walk over to the Aria. On the way, I decided to drop $20 into the Beetlejuice slot at MC. I played for 5 minutes, hit a bonus for $35. So, now w/ less than 45 minutes on the floor, I'm up $115. I proceeded to Aria. Aria was a little more lively at 9am, aided by the Rodeo being in town. I found the only $10 BJ and bought in for $150. I played for an hour or so, and ended up cashing up $240. I decided not to give it back on the Craps table, and opted to grab my bag and head back to McCarran. Minus $35 in cab fare, I ended up over $300 in my 2.5 hours in Vegas!
I had a layover once in vegas coming home from a business trip. I was so hoping my flight would be canceled. It kept getting delayed and delayed so I had a glimmer of hope but then suddenly as I'm enjoying a coffee I get a text notification we are boarding. Holy crap we left on time. Good thing I didn't wonder off.
lol I have purposely booked around Vegas layovers because I know damn well that if I land there...my ass is staying!
I killed me to see the strip coming and going. But I stayed the weekend in Seattle as I had never been before so I don't regret that part. It's a beautiful city.
Very nice! RDU used to be my home airport (lived 10 minutes away). Now, ONT is my home airport (live 15-20 minutes away)
