As things seem to change all the time in Vegas, (and I haven't been in a year and a half), have any other casinos besides Wynn stop comping drinks when playing VP at bar?

    Thanks

Never had any problems getting comped drinks although some bars will insist on max credits, TI has a sign on the bartop machine that says you must put $20 minimum in and play minimum $1 hand although this isn't always enforced I noticed when playing there quite a lot last year. Only place I have seen it enforced was Mirage where it's max credits for comp drink, best place I played was Stratosphere where they didn't bother what credits you were playing.

I have found however that playing at certain CET bars, if you want a premium drink (e.g. a Goose and Cranberry, as opposed to a Vodka Cranberry), they will upcharge you if you are below Diamond TR Status. At least they did back in October 2014, at Harrahs. They even have little signs on the bar stating such.

At aria I've been asked how much money I put in the machine before they would give me a drink. It was a $200 tito ticket. Tried to get another drink 15 minutes later and they said no.

At least $20 in and max credits on 25c will get you drinks. I've heard of Aria limiting drinks to one every 30 minutes though. I can't personally confirm though.

The funniest part is that bartop VP was not the main reason we went there, but it's the main reason we won't be back.

Book & Stage at the Cosmo has the most lightening-fast bartenders when you play VP. I put in my money and hadn't even made my first bet before they offered me a drink. Quick refills too. $0.25 VP and some machines are progressive.

I can confirm Aria's 1 drink every 30 minute policy.

Was there last June/July and sat down at the bar in the back by the escalators that go up to the convention level and put $100 in a $.25 VP machine and got a jack and coke for free. Finished it off in 10 minutes and asked for another but was told they would have to charge me for it or I needed to way another 15 minutes.

I was a late-night regular at the TI bartops. Very cool bartender kept the J&C flowing and made 'em pretty strong. Thought it was cool how he congratulated me after hitting two quads, then said, "Let me get you an extra-strong drink to celebrate!"

If you are playing VP at MGM properties the amount of drinks they give you will never out weight the crappy pay tables! :rolleyes2:

I've heard about Aria having some sort of policy, but I think this is very selectively enforced. I've personally never encountered it, and I have zero problem getting as many drinks as I want at Lift Bar, including premium/custom drinks that the bartenders come up with on the spot. I've also had bartenders (1) spontaneously upgrade me from Stoli to Stoli Elit, and (2) say to me, "What the hell, why is that glass in front of you empty?" I think, based on what people have reported, that this problem is more prevalent at the sports bar in the back, if not confined to that place completely. Either that, or there's something about me that makes bartenders feel the need to get me drunk!

Lift Bar is 9/5 JoB at the $1 level. It's not full-pay, but it's better than pretty much anything you're going to find on the Strip, let alone at a bartop.

The biggest problem we've had getting drinks at the VP bar was downtown at Biinion's and Golden Nugget They are very stingy there. Binion's had a problem with bottled beer and only wanted to comp draft by the cup. Golden Nugget had an issue giving me a cocktail and a bottle of water. Said they could give me the cocktail but I had to wait for the water.

Luxor is 9/6 JoB (99.54%) at the $1+ level in the high limit lounge. And 9/7 TDB (99.58%) for the crazy swing people. Can't speak about the drink quality/selection though. Some other MGM properties offer full pay at the bars too, but it's more often at the $5 level.

Last trip in Sept. I got a bottle of Budweiser from Binion's, no issues. Maybe this is a newer thing?

Bond at Cosmo asked for max credits at 25C, but kept the drinks flowing fast. Last trip I spent about an hour there before moving on and I had about 6 drinks in an hour. :drunk:

I loved that bar, and wish I spent more time. I will be back soon!
