I have always wanted to try the high limit slot at least once. My question is; what are my chances of hitting anything with $100.00 bankroll.

Great article based on 2012 for Clark County for all slot games.

For me it's a question of how long do you want your money to last. I went through $40 at Planet Hollywood in less than 20 minutes playing a 25 cent machine max 3 bet (75 cents per spin). Wife won $600+ on her 4th spin using $20 playing the same way at a machine behind me. Needless to say she cashed out right after that win and got herself a massage while I proceeded to the poker table.

It is very, very likely that you will win a progressive jackpot.

    Ok, kidding.

With a $100 bankroll on a 3 credit $5 machine, you are realistically looking at a range of 7-20 spins. Your risk of ruin is VERY high. Your best bet is going to be a lower volatility game like Double Diamond, where many spins are a wash, and there are many small payouts. I would recommend dropping to $1 machines, but if you want to take a stab at the big denomination machines, best of luck.

High limit slots are pure luck.. like ANY slots.lol Just for fun last trip I put $100 in a $25 Top Dollar, hit the bonus the 2nd spin and got paid $2175... could have just as easily lost my money.. :jester:

I agree with all the posters above, adding:

The house PC is "much" smaller on a $5 machine than it is on a $0.01 machine, but with a $5 machine, a payout will typically at least give you "money back". $0.01 machines can give you less than your total bet back per win, so it "feels" like $0.01 machines pay out better.

When I go to my local casino I typically play my free play ($100) on a $5 or $10 machine. Most trips I lose or make less than $100, on the last trip I was $800 up in the first 5 minutes. It was my shortest trip to a casino . . . ever.

With a $100 bankroll, it would be better to avoid the high limit slot area and find a penny machine with a max bet of $5.
If possible, try to save about $300 before heading to the HL room which will give you plenty of options.

I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying to turn your $100 into $300 by betting $5/spin on the penny slots, then take your money into the HL room?

I'm pretty sure he's saying that if you only have a $100 BR then use it on penny slots while betting max bets. If you have a BR of $300 then go to the HL room.

Find a three-reel single-line slot with a low jackpot pay table with no premium for playing more than one coin (like 800 for one coin and 1,600 for two). Play a single coin.

Play $10 denom (with $100, that would be my choice - give yourself 10 spins), $25, or go for the $100.

Play all of the $100, but if you hit anything significant (like 5 credits on a $100 machine), walk immediately, don't play back your winnings unless they're all like 2 credits on a $10 machine.

Made a trip recently. staying at the D

    Put $100 into a $5.00 double diamond machine, Playing 2 coins. 6 pulls then I hit this . . .

    IMG_20141230_235701.jpg

Two days later, went to Wynn took out a $2k marker.

Down to my LAST $100 and then hit this

    20150102_Wynn_1455.jpg

Nice jackpot, but it brought me back to "only" $450 down.

So, I'm saying that it can go wither way.

I want to play a high limit machine too! I usually play penny, nickel, quarter, and $1. For my birthday, I'm brining an extra $1000 for high limit play. I'm thinking $10 or $25 single line three reel or $1 multi line. I'll be playing at MGM. Any suggestions on specific machines?

If you can sign up for a new players card at Tropicana they have a $200 loss rebate on your first day of play. Toss in 200 and go for broke!

Hymm... Wife and I usually play only where we stay (MGM properties or V/P resorts) but look like we will have to make an exception for this. Thanks.

I've better luck (knock on wood) with PinBall and Top $ machines inside the MGM HL room. Good luck and win BIG!

If you play a $100 machine, you will get one spin. Like all slots, your chances suck. But, you do have a chance.

Will your spin(s) be the lucky ones or not.

Really, other than a slight variance in the house hold/payback %, high limit slots are just like every other slot in the casino. Not sure why folks think they are that much different. The biggest difference in a higher denomination is that you run out of money faster.

There are also VP machines in HL rooms. In 2013 I found this one at MGM and hit this on my second or third pull.....
