Planning a Vegas trip with the wife in March for 3 nights.

Leaning towards staying at the regular/non-penthouse 1 bedroom Aria Sky Suite for about $1430 (would get a $150 resort credit, + some other decent perks).

We are also looking at the Vdara 1BR Penthouse for about $850, or Cosmopolitan Terrace Suite (non-wraparound) for about $1050 as other options, and can't decide...

Is it worth the extra cash to stay at the Sky Suite?
Is the Cosmo Terrace view worth it?
Is the walk from the Vdara annoying or not that bad at all? The Vdara seems to have a nice room for the price.

For background, we are in our mid 30s. Both of us have been to Vegas and were there most recently a little over a year ago so won't be doing too much touristy stuff. We both liked the Wynn, but want to try something different this time and liked the vibe of the Aria last time we were there.

We plan to eat, relax, see some shows, and do some gambling. She likes the slots. I prefer the table games, and poker but will play slots with her often. We won't be doing any real partying/clubbing but like being near the "scene" people watching and don't mind some noise. Our room priorities are being newer/more modern, size, being well-lit/bright, view, comfortable bed, nice bathroom/shower, cleanliness. Don't really need the washer/kitchen stuff though a usable fridge is a plus. Otherwise would like to be in a good location, but don't think we'd overly mind a short ?5 min walk to the Aria/Bellagio casinos if we were to stay at Vdara, or would we???

    Would appreciate any help. Thanks!

1: Cosmo view is totally worth it, can't go wrong with a balcony on the hot summer days. If you can afford the corner wrap around, that's the real deal, just make sure you get a fountain view either way.Cosmo has the best location of the three as well, right on the strip between Bellagio and Aria. You can walk to Aria through the little backway stairwell in about 5 min from the check in desk too!
2: My boss swears by the Sky Suites and won't stay in anything less. The one bedroom is nice, spacious, but if you don't pay for the view, you likely won't get one. The free play and perk of the little lounge with all you need water and juice is nice.
3: Vdara PH rooms I have not seen. Been in the corner suite, which was amazing! I like Vdara for the location and quiet nature of the hotel, but would pick it last on this list.

I would pretty much go with the last poster.

That balcony is really cool at Cosmo. And, Cosmo is a happening place in the casino as well.

Vdara has great rooms, but, you can not just take the elevator to the casino. Short walk outside, but...it is still outside.

I would go with Cosmo's terrace suite for thoose prices. Its a perfect room when staying with wife or gf, they all have fountain views with the best angle towards the fountains. They are also all located in the west tower which is quiet and the balcony is not as big as the wraparround but larger then the regular rooms. Also nice to have an extra full size bathroom and if you need to use washer/dryer just call housekeeping and they will bring detergent. Other benefits its that they have a full fridge and they leave a couple shelves for personal use and the rest is minibar.

I stayed in the Vdara 1 BR Penthouse last fall, and have booked it again for the next trip. It's an excellent room, and we had a fabulous view. The walk is really not bad at all, better than some room-to-casino trips.

That said, if money weren't an issue, I'd totally be booking the Sky Suite, just to try out the room and all the perks that come with it. :)

Vdara all the way, it blows a terrace studio away, with the full kitchen and washer dryer combo too
the walk is nothing, hell the walk from ceasars octavius tower to the casino is longer than the walk to bellagio, Aria or even Cosmoq

The terrace studio is different from the terrace suite.

The terrace suite is a very nice room. The terrace suite I stayed in had a kitchen and washer/dryer also. The terrace is probably the best aspect of Cosmo. Get a fountain view and you will be good.

The Aria Sky suites are awesome. However, paying the extra is probably not worth it. It has more of a VIP, quiet feeling with their own personal elevators. I loved walking out the elevators straight to the bacc lounge. Save me some walking.

I have never stayed at Vdara. I heard it's a great hotel and room. My problem is you have to walk to Aria or Bellagio. This is what has prevented me from staying at Vdara and MO.

The Vdara 1BR penthouse might have a nicer room then terrace studio but OP was talking about a terrace suite. I dont know why people have such a hard time understanding that there is a big difference. The terrace suite is on par with the wraparround and comes with much better view unless you are in the east tower and in the northeast corner. Also comes with a full kitchen washer/ dryer combo as well as 2 full bathrooms.

I noticed this also on the board and talking with others.

There is a huge difference. It's like comparing a Aria sky suite to a corner suite at aria. They are different by a lot.

Thanks so much for the help everyone. I'd be interested in any other input, but to add more to the mix:

Just looked up prices again on my original Sky Suite room and it went down by $160 for the three nights, bringing the total tab to $1270 for 3 nights + a $150 resort credit.

To top it off, I had already tentatively booked the the Sky Suite (just to reserve it b/c it seemed like the highest chance of selling out) and just got an upgrade offer email for $70/night to the Sky Suite 1 BR Penthouse. So (assuming I get the same offer again), basically we could get 3 nights at the 1 bedroom Sky Suite Penthouse for about $1500 total, or about $70 more than the original $1430 I would have paid for the standard Aria Sky Suite. Seems worth it if it works out?

The Vdara seems like a nice option but leaning away from it for now (maybe next time?). The Cosmo Terrace Suite definitely sounds like a tempting value and still deciding between this and the Aria, but the one reason we are still leaning toward Mlife properties over the Cosmo that I didn't mention is that we are Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond members and got status matched to Mlife Platinum. Because of the Hyatt-Mlife partnership, we would be getting a decent amount of Hyatt points per night in addition to our other Mlife benefits. I don't mind the total cost so much as I just want value.

Go with the Sky Suite, especially with that upgrade offer.

The Sky Suite also comes with limo transport to and from the airport if that matters to you at all.

I'd go with Aria's Sky Suite in a heartbeat... Second choice is the Cosmo Terrace Suite.

Do you smoke? If so, the Cosmo open balcony is a must have.
And yes, the premium view of the Bellagio fountains from the Cosmo is awesome, just look at Sindustry' avatar. Very romantic.

I've stayed in both an Aria two bedroom sky suite and the Cosmo terrace suites.
The open balcony is unique, and the Bellagio fountain view can really impress the panties off certain people who have never seen it before.
WIOW is the universally used word.

I stayed in The Terrace Suite at Cosmo once. The Terrace was nice but I did not use it nearly as much as I thought I would.
For me it was not as nice as the Sky Suites at Aria.
If you can swing the Penthouse, that is a fantastic experience but I even like the Aria Suite better.
I also just prefer the casino at Aria and the private elevators and lounge wins out over the Terrace for me..

Not to mention the service level at Sky Suites is in another universe compared to Cosmo.

Well thats the difference imo since the rooms are comparable and you will find people who prefer Skysuites and vice versa. Still if the price was the same i go with the Terrace Suite @Cosmo any yes, theese rooms has the best views in Vegas and worth every penny. But if service really is that important to you i much rather stay at the tower suites at Wynncore or the Mandarin Oriental.

Have you ever stayed at Sky Suites?

Cosmo's rates have also skyrocketed to the point where I think an argument can be made that their rooms aren't worth every penny any longer.
