I see from a previous post regarding scents that MGM and Aria both pipe in scents (which I personally LOVE!!) Love the smell at the Signature  But my friend gets terrible migraines from scents. She wants to stay at a property that doesn't have that scent pipped in. Vdara? Nyny? Mirage? Bellago? Monte Carlo? Do they have scents pipped in??

Definitely not NYNY. They have a pretty strong apple smell. Monte Carlo also uses more of a cologne-y smell that is easy to detect. I believe Mirage has something similar.

Mirage definitely has a scent. Monte Carlo sort of has a scent but I also find it to be very smoky inside (which is a problem you're going to have at a lot of the older casinos like Flamingo, Bally's, etc.). I don't recall much of a signature scent at Luxor, but I haven't been there in a while.

Honestly, "signature scents" has been a big thing in Vegas branding for a few years now. Your friend might wind up having some trouble.

Good point, Luxor may be an option with the large "open air" feel (most of the scent would be wasted).

Was in Luxor last week and the scent was quite strong. Floral and barfy.

Green Valley Ranch is the first casino of any size I've been to lately with no scent. They did, however spray the room with some goddawful stuff just before we checked in. Mucho airing out took care of it, plus banishing the housekeeping staff.

The scents are always strongest in the lobby so they can hit you over the head with their 'signature' stink to create a totally sensory 'environment'. So have your friend stay outta there.

Does the Golden Nugget have a scent? I don't remember one, so maybe they don't or it is faint. That might be an alternative, but probably not what you are looking for. Stay out of the Four Queens, they've added Ti-d-bowl scent latetly. Barfomatic.

I actually thought of Bellagio first, but when I went to the internet to check, they were one of the first casinos mentioned in articles on the subject. I probably just never noticed (or didn't realize that it was an artificial scent).

If I were to be blindfolded and put in the middle of the casino, I could probably tell which casino I was in most of the time. The most notables for me are Venetian, Mandalay Bay, and Bellagio. I don't mind the scent of Venetian, but it seems that it is so overpowering. The scent of the Venetian is on my clothes until I wash it. I stay at Planet Hollywood most of the time, and I don't recall a scent there. But it could be that I am so used to it that I don't notice it anymore. I remember how the old Barbary Coast reeked of cigarette smoke that you could almost taste it.

Casinos put on the scent for a reason.
artificial scent, smoke or human sweat smell, you've got to choose one.

I LOVE the scent the Hard Rock pipes in... it helps keep out the old crabby people.

Vdara has a scent in the lobby, definitely. They call it Green Fig on their website. My mom, who also had trouble with scents, would probably be OK with it, as her sensitivity tends more towards florals than fruits. The rooms don't have anything piped in, if that helps.

Venetian is the only place where I've had a problem. I know other places have them but I usually don't notice.

Blacklabber, that Shoe smell was perfected at Western!

Michelle, if your friend is that sensitive then they have no business in Las Vegas.

I notice smells very quickly. I don't remember one at Cosmo or Planet Hollywood.

I can't recall any smell at Bellagio, Caesers or Wynn/Encore. Vdara smells great, plus no smoking.

Some of these responses are really funny! Yeah, I don't know what triggers her allergies. Just trying to give her options. If i were her I just wouldn't hang out in the lobbies too long. I really don't recall strong scents on any of the gaming floors.

The only smell I think Bellagio has is a strong floral scent in the lobby from the conservatory.
