Ever since I've booked my next trip I can't stop thinking about it! I'm sure I'm not the only one who goes through this. What do you do to help pass the time regarding Vegas?!
LOL, this is absolutely normal behavior in my experience. To treat this affliction, I tend to hang out here on the boards, commiserating with my fellow Vegas addicts, and much to my wife's dismay, I spend a lot of time daydreaming about how much stuff I can stuff into our next trip.
same here.i just get back and cant wait to go again. i don't think i could live there... boy that would be trouble ....
I am this way even when I don't have a trip planned. It frustrates the hell out of my wife - but I am constantly following people on this board, or rereading (for the 100th time) Royal Flusher trip reports or searching online to find some entertaining reports.. or watching natedog, BJay, Packer and the others on their 2nd of 20 trips. One thing I've found is trying to find things that are different for this coming trip than the last - make plans to do it.. then wind up gambling 20 hours every day and never leaving the casino once I get there.
I help past the time by reading posts from this board, watch Vegas themed movies, and study and practice gaming strategy.
40 days. But who's counting? It will be 39 days tomorrow! I have trips to New Hampshire, California, Utah, Northern Nevada, Wyoming, Alaska, Texas and Pennsylvania in between then to keep my mind off of Vegas. Then it's two weeks in Paradise, NV! Happy Valley! Lost Wages! Going to come back with $10 Million! Just like everybody on this board!
I'm similar as everyone else. I check this board religiously and reread old trip reports. Watch Vegas movies. Talk Vegas with anyone who cares. Look up shows and events. Research my hotel and casino. Watch YouTube videos. Pretty much anything I can access Vegas related lol
Follow the board, laugh my ass off at Royal Flusher's witty TRs, and practice VP till my fingers bleed.
We usually book 100+ days out and my wife does a countdown the entire time. We are just 30+ days out and I already updated my food list with restaurant times. The next few weekends will be something different. One weekend will compile a itinerary. Another weekend, build play list (rebuild one each trip) Start reading trip reports for new things to see and do.
I am sometimes able to push Vegas out of my mind - usually around the holidays and of course when work is really busy. But it can only stay out of my mind for a certain amount of time before I have this urge to book a trip. It'll hit suddenly too...driving into work one day and I hear a Vegas.com ad on the radio and it was like the trumpets from heaven...
Another Illinoian here... Read, watch videos, read more, buy books, read more, eat, sleep, get up and do it again....lol I think a lot of it is relative to the booking and/or planning process. For me there seems to be a direct correlation to the amount of time spent on the boards or anything else regarding Vegas. e.g.: I was looking for some vintage vegas footage (nostalgia buff) and I ran across some of the most incredible time lapse video work that was truly amazing. Look for it on another post. Go to other local meets and some from the VMB! Enjoy!
I find myself making mental plans of what I would like to do once I get there. But in reality I know those plans will go out the window and filled with gambling all hours of the day, drinking, sleeping, and repeating the same process.
