I just received a post card from Turning Stone saying that if I don't stop in before January 30th, they are going to start charging $5 per month for my players club card! Really?? Since when has this started?

I used to go there a few times a year, but due to illness, did not make it there this year. It is a 3 hour round trip drive, so not really wanting to make a trip just to update my card. I am not done with my medical issues yet either, so not wanting to make the drive.

Has anyone else run into this with Turning Stone? I will try calling to update, but what a PIA!!:grrr:

    Put card in envelope.

Mail card to Turning Stone. ($.49)

Include brief but concise note telling them where you think they should insert the card.

    Continue on with life.

    Jane,

I agree with Breeze. Turning Stone is not very "player friendly". They have made changes recently reducing the player's "advantage" at Blackjack and Video Poker. I used to go there frequently. Not any more.
    I hope your health improves.
    Good luck.:beer::beer:

Yes, got the same thing for me and my husband. Sent them an email. Told them to cancel my account. Where do they think they are getting the $5. from? I go when I am in in the area, which is every few years. They can keep their casino.

My posse and I love Turning Stone and go there on the way and returning from Saratoga, NY on a Racetrack pilgrimage every year. I personally have organized the trips for 13 straight years and this is news to me.

As most people who know TS understand, they went without a liquor licence forever- until they finally settled with NYS a couple of years back. Notwithstanding, this was NEVER a concern for our group and we drank at the tables every year- from our own stash. Some years, we'd bring the Smirnoff's bottle to the table in a paper bag and refill. Never, ever had a hassle from anyone. Always were able to get a comp for breakfast before we left for Saratoga in the morning or dinner.

Sounds like change for the worse.

Wow. That sucks. I'm in Albany ny for a conference right now and had planned on stopping there tomorrow on my way back to Buffalo ny. I haven't gotten that letter but my free slot play has gone from $100.00 to $15.00. I probably stop there 3 times a year.

I would think , with new casino being built less than 90 miles away in the next 3 years, that TS would be trying to entice their card holders to come more often. And you threaten them a $5.00 fee??? WTF? I'll wait till I get back to Seneca Niagara to get my gamble on! Eff TS!

I have no clue where they think they are getting the $5 from!

I do prefer Seneca Alleghany and Seneca Niagara - but an occasional trip to TS was a nice change of pace. My comps were always better at TS.

You can put a fork in TS now that new casinos are coming to New York. Their days are numbered.

I just found an article that explains the changes a little better. Unfortunately, people have been trying to call to transfer their information to the new players card and have not been able to get through. (my postcard neglected to tell me I could do this over the phone - it said I had to come to the casino before Jan 30th)

Those who held a Turning Stone Diamond Card need to cash in soon if they still have a balance.

The Diamond Card is a rewards card once used by the casino and was needed to play gaming machines. Users put money on the card and inserted it into the machines.

In March, the gaming floor was updated to a cash-in system, rendering the cards obsolete. In addition, the casino launched the TS Rewards card as a loyalty club.

Those who have a Diamond Card can cash out or transfer over to the TS Rewards card. After Jan. 30, there will be a $5 a month maintenance fee for anyone who has a balance on the Diamond Card. For those with a zero balance, the card will be deactivated.

The card can be cashed out at Turning Stone or call 1-800-771-7711.
