What should I expect for comps at MB with my play?

I'm always confused by comps. I'm definitely a low roller and want to understand more.

So in returning from Europe, I decided to do a quick stopover in Las Vegas yesterday. I stayed and played at Mandalay Bay for ONE night. I exclusively played slots. Here are my numbers (estimated from what I can calculate based on Mlife website data)...

Tier credits approximately earned - 26,000
    EC earned - $15.75

I would've played more but I was tired and ran through my bankroll ($1500) for the night. Didn't have any luck at the machines.

Should I even bother asking a host about primary comps (considering I only played and stayed one night)?
If yes, how much should I expect?

Based on your express comps you coined in about $4700 since you earn $0.01 for each point and 1 point = $3 coin-in. If you charged any meals to your room it won't hurt to stop by the MLIFE desk before check out and see if they can knock anything off. It's hard to say what your theoretical loss is since penny slots and dollar slots have different house advantages. But $4700 coin in should get you something on check out even if it's just knocking off resort fee and your dinner.

You MIGHT see some offers in the future for mid-week stays. Also if you're still in LV and you started at 0 tier points, you may as well get your Pearl card from the MLIFE desk. Not that you get anything special, it's nice having a non-sapphire card, haha.

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm already Platinum with Mlife and accumulated 70,000 tier credits from my last trip two weeks ago (stayed at Bellagio).

I mainly play penny and quarter slots. Sometimes dollar. I sometimes play specialty slots because they can fun.

I was just wondering if I'll look like a fool going to a host given I was only here for less than 24 hours and played only several hours (as opposed to my usual 3 days trip with many hours of play).

Did you pay for the room or was it comped up front?

I agree with Bayou's base calc, but since you were already Platinum, you get a 30% boost on ECs, so it's possible your coin in was closer to only $3,500. That would probably cover a standard room room (especially with a $1,500 actual loss, ouch that's a pretty bad run, what were you playing?).

I usually use 10% as a theo estimate for slots.

Time played is really meaningless on machines.

Last visit to MB (last May), we only went through about $300 (lost) in slots within a 2-3 hour time period and when I got home, I was getting email offers from MLIfe for 4 nights comp Sun-Thurs - resort credits and FP. They wanted us to come back and lose more money apparently! Now that we are going back in March, I haven't seen an offer come thru since last summer!

I played a variety of slots. Nothing paid out. Biggest win was $108 on bier haus. It was really really bad. Not sure I'll be returning to MB.

Anyway I went to MLife desk, and I got $145 including EC. Thank you for the replies.

I forgot to add that nothing was comped upfront. Booked room by calling MLife at MB. Got discounted room rate.
