BeeeJays High Variance Phoenix Trip Report

Well friends, here I sit in the Ohare shitter waiting to escape the bitter cold and I figure why the hell shouldn't I do a non-Vegas trip report!?!?

Because this trip will involve gambling, and you can be damn sure if I win anything of note my return flight to Chicago on Monday is gonna have week-long layover in Vegas and I'm gonna join the Cosmo party!

 

Whoops legs fell asleep in there, limping like a gimp now!

Anyway, there are two reasons I'm calling this the "high variance" trip report, here is #1:





105 degree temperature variance! That was Wednesday but it's still over 75. I had to get up at 430 to shovel and clean off wife's car. It's BRUTAL out there!

I am very ready for this trip, it's been an insane week. Wife's car wouldn't start Monday, had to spend half the day getting that taken care of and driving her around. Wednesday and Thursday kids were off school due to the cold and I was very busy with work.

Also had to layer In a trip to the Pandora store to grab 3 charms for the wife, stock the house with groceries, complete a background check and drug test, and spend about 5 hours cleaning the house.

You see I wanted to make sure the wife couldn't get too pissy with me for heading on a trip I do every year. Of course after I busted my ass she came home after work yesterday and screamed at me that I'm never going on vacation again. Lol

I mean geez man it's only my 5th trip in 2 months (family mall of America, Nebraska football game, Vegas, Caribbean cruise, and now Phoenix).

Some people Ya just can't make em happy!

So anyway like I said this is an annual trip to play a round of golf and catch up with my grade school buddies who live in the desert SW but can't make it to Vegas, well except for Borat of course!

So I'm about 40 minutes from boarding a first class Flight to PHX, where I'll grab rental car and pick up my buddy big dog, then we are meeting Borat at TopGolf in Scottsdale, for dinner we are hitting The Vig at McCormick ranch with 2 other buddies, and then it's off to the taking stick casino...



A little more cash than one might need for a golf weekend lol. The goal of the gambling is to hit a big enough win to finance a weeklong stopover in Vegas for Pay Triples MLK party---unlikely but hey you gotta have goals.

Saturday we golf at TPC Scottsdale the. Will hit a nearby bar full of hot blond milfs to watch the games. Probably end up back at the casino.

Sunday will be spent watching the games from our other buddy "Money"s hot tub pounding Ciroc.

Monday I'll be flying back to Chicago OR maybe, just maybe, rescheduling the flight to include a Vegas layover!

Thanks guys,Yep trading -10 for 76 today is gonna be a win for sure, now I just need to hope for variance #2, some positive gambling variance! I see Aces Kicker dealt with a 3X multiplier on triple play for $18,000. That would do it! Maybe even a $2 royal for $8k would necessitate a Vegas layover.

Well I guess our flight is delayed for re-de-icing....F'ing Chicago

The Vig always seems to have a diverse crowd. Last time I was there a guy with a newer candy painted lambo was sitting next to a guy who arrived on a fixed gear bicycle.

I can use all the mojo I can muster!

I only saw one cancelled United flight at Ohare, that was to Philly which was adjacent to Phoenix so it did give me a momentary scare. More likely that was due to fans throwing batteries than weather.

I was actually aware 81 on wed was a record high for the day as I was tracking the temp variance all week and 105 spread between 81 and -24 was the apex.

It's not really that I need gambling money, it's more the divorce attorney fees if I'm not home on Monday.

Aw shucks I'm still at the airport waiting for my golf clubs, looks like Mr. Wang from caddy shack is here, I should ask him if I can borrow some naked lady tees!

 

Gotta say I was pleasantly impressed with the service and breakfast, I may be too full for In-N-out Burger now.
