March Roll Call - 2015

Looks like a good time to start this. I'm heading there March 18th for a week of March Madness. Right now Boyd hotels are comping my 8 nights ( only need 7) until CET, hopefully, sends me my annual "Hoops on the strip" offer. Then I can settle down for at least the first 4 days for some serious hoops, craps and poker. And hopefully my very 1st VMB get together.

Where and when are you in Vegas this March?

 

I'll be there March 26-30 for the Sweet 16.

 

Will be in for 1st 4 days of MM. Hope to see some folks then during the games

 

We'll be there for the NCAA men's BB tournament. We'll arrive March 17 and leave March 23.

Same here. First four days of March Madness. 14th year in a row!!!

 

Since I canceled my SB Weekend trip I re-booked for March Madness. I am fired up to experience Vegas during the tourney.

I'll be there the 18th-24th staying at the Palazzo

Where is the best place to catch the Thurs and Fri games?

 

March 16-20. Staying at the Rio. Will probably spend the 17th (St Patrick's day) downtown. Marathon BJ session at the Gate.

That question should probably get you about 20-30 different answers. I have found the Mirage sports book to be the best as far as non-paying (Free) areas to watch the game.. If you can get a seat (real early,) the Harrahs sportsbook is small but they have a bar with Vp and multiple screens behind the bar. You can get the best of all 3 (free drinks, make $$ on some Vp and watch hoops). I stumbled up on that 1 last summer during football season. The Red Rock sportsbook is huge and you can also watch from their bar and play VP (same bennies as Harrahs but no big screens at the bar).

The past 3 years I have gotten 2 comp tickets to the "Hoops on the strip" event that CET does every year. I believe the event cost around $100.00 each day. Last year 1 of the locations was at Harrahs, in their ball room. There were craps and BJ in the middle of a room that probably sat 500 people. Food and beverage stations and 2 betting kiosks in the front door. Last year was also the 2nd year in a row that I have given away 1 of my wrist bands for either the 1st or 2nd day because the wife doesn't come down till Sat or Sunday (and she is not a fan of College hoops).

I have no doubt that others may chime in about good locations.

The CET Hoops deal sounds pretty good...I am intrigued by that and would gladly pay the entry fee since I don't have enough play with CET any more to get me much in the way of comps.

When I am in town for football I know the good spots but a football Sunday is a bit different than March Madness I think...I am hoping that The SuperBook will have their theater open.

 

FWIW. Hoops and Nascar fans may find this helpful. Its a soup to nuts review of all (well most) of the sports books in Vegas (Size pros/cons etc.).
