Do most people actually buy points or just play with the free ones?

I met folks on my November trip who were raving about the free stuff they earned on My Vegas. With six months to go until my next trip, I figured I'd try it out. I run out of points every day and they keep offering to sell me some. It makes no sense (to me) to pay for points if my goal is to get free stuff (hoping for monorail passes.)

If I'm not going to pay for points, is it worth playing? When you DO pay for points, do you feel like you get enough "free" stuff to make it more than worth what you're paying (or do you just do it for fun?)

    Enlighten me, please!

I currently have over 500K in loyalty points to use on our next trip. I have never, and never will purchase chips for the game. Be patient, as you progress in levels the bonus daily chips will increase. On our last trip, about a year ago, we had several nice rewards. Wife and I both had free buffet at Aria, nice desert, passes to the shark exhibit at Mandalay Bay, a couple of nice desserts. All without purchasing any chips. With 6 months for you, you should gain enough to make it worthwhile.

I started out not too long ago too and I feel your concerns. Do NOT buy chips, that defeats the purpose of playing. May sure you log on everydays to get the multiplier on the daily bonus wheel. As your level increases, your daily chips increase as well. Also, make sure you visit your "My Strip" to collect free chips.

its just like the casino, it takes some luck to get a nice hit to be able to play for awhile.

It you are not already, play the phone app too...you can link it to your FB account and earn rewards twice as fast (the apps chips are seperate from FB)

Over a million total LP's and I started about six months after the game did. I play on the iPad mostly because I detest everything Facebook. I do play on Facebook, however, with only my daughter as a friend and no notifications and hopefully no way anybody can find me (you give up all privacy rights to them and the government). There is also blackjack and rumors have it soon video poker to play.

Free chips at: http://blonde4ever.yuku.com/topic/26680/Re-Chips?page=-1#.VKrEzE10zIU and http://myvegasfreechips.com/

Please read the terms and conditions of the rewards and the FAQ's. The message board has been very helpful answering many questions so search the threads too and of course this is a friendly place to ask any question!

    Have fun!

If you like to play Blackjack, play the Blackjack app as well. You can like the LPs together but earn free coins everyday on each app. Like the other posters - I only play on my Ipad and in under 3 months were about to accumulate about 200000 LPs and make the purchases I wanted for a trip this Friday. I made a ton on Blackjack. Like you, there would be days I didn't get anything - but then you get a lucky day, start increasing your bets or spin values - and then you are golden. I have almost 30,000,000 coins on Blackjack and bet 100K or 200K per hand and fly through loyalty points. Just be patient. Don't bet too big too early. Grow slowly at first.

Wonderful helpful answers! You guys are just terrific. This will encourage my sister, too, as we are both doing it.

I'd play more if they had video poker.

I never pay for points, I cashed in last year with some free meals and a show, and this year I will do the same, I have enough points for 2 for the dinner buffet at Mandala Bay, plus other buffets, going end of Feb, I have over 450000 points right now. So don't pay for points.

Ok, I'll be the first here to admit that I've purchased chips. I've spent roughly $50 over the last 2 years. In return, I'm able to redeem for 4 MLife rewards. I've also cashed in for roughly $3,000 worth of rewards... so in my eyes, definitely worth it.

I'm also not ashamed to admit I've purchased chips, but to the tune of $60 between the two of us over the past two years or however long it's been. We did it both as a chip jump starter and because we enjoyed playing the game. We haven't purchased any since we went last March, but we've redeemed much more than that $60, so no regrets. I just agree that I wouldn't recommend purchasing chips to anyone, especially now that you have multiple ways to play and earn chips and LPs between the desktop and mobile games, plus the almost daily chip freebies from emails and social media...something I wasn't initially aware of.

Edited to add: as an example, I spent my LPs down to about 1K prior to our October trip, and without spending a dime I've now gained over 80K. Granted, at level 139 I get fair 4-hour and daily bonuses, but it is possible to get some decent perks for free.

So stack em up and play all the games and enjoy your trip this year!!

Agree with everyone above. I've currently got over 1.1m LP's, and I haven't spent a penny. Nor would I. It would, as you pointed out, defeat the purpose of getting "free" rewards. Good luck!

Remember to make sure you "add friends". This will really help your daily spin payout.
