My new go to burger place on The Strip! Good prices for a burger place in Vegas. Long line but goes very fast within eight to ten minutes. There is a separate line outside which goes much faster if you just want cold items. The custard is above par. Perfect size burger and fries. Hits the spot just right. Very spacious burger joint. Small drawback is that you can only enter the place from the outside and not from within New York New York. If I am wrong please correct me.

I think In-N-Out has finally met some good competition.

Don't tell any west coasters that you like shake shack more than in and out...you'll never hear the end of it! From the Nyc area so have had shake shack for the last few years but excited they're expanding (they opened one in CT 5 minutes from my work a couple years ago). I heard rumors they were opening one in Austin tx, but if that hasn't happened vegas will be the first location you can have both in and out and shake shack.

LOL. Tell me about it. I had an earful just recently. Big caveat with In-N-Out is its location since it is pretty out of the way. If the place is located right smack somewhere on the Strip I am sure many not just me would be singing major praises.

    Good article on Vegas Chatter.
Article is written by a LA resident who also says better than In & Out.
They are suppose to have an IPO soon.

By a LA resident. Uh oh. This is not good. Honestly I like them both and I find them on par with each other. Shake Shack wins on location and access.

I'll be giving Shake Shack a try. I've tried In-N-Out and was not impressed.

It's a good shake I want - how are the shakes at Shake Shack?

Does anyone know if you can use express comps or charge to your hotel room?

Give me a Cubbies or Char-Grill any day over an In-n-Out! Yes, I like East Coast burgers better...southeast, to be more specific. However, I am always game for trying a new burger joint! I will try this place in a few days!

I went to the one in New Haven when it first opened... Wasn't too impressed. Burger patty was wicked dry. But after reading the Vegas Chatter article, I'm intrigued to try it out again.

I have been to the one in Westport CT, it is a good burger on par with 5 guys in my opinion. Never had In-n-out so I can't compare it to that.

The draw for me is that you don't have to navigate the casino to get to it. I love a good burger, will put it on my list for February (or June).

Sounds like it wasn't cooked properly, which happens. It should be a bit charred on the outside, but nice and juicy on the inside. I've definitely gotten them overcooked like you're saying before though. It will be more difficult for shake shack to keep up the quality of the burgers as they open more and more locations.

Been in the food business for 30 years. I still can't figure out what people like about an IN & Out burger? I think it's a cult following.
Try ordering a single burger. About half way through you will have a veggie sandwich. No meat, all lettuce & onion. Must order a double.
Fries are good. Obviously no variety to the menu.
But.............................They make millions. I never see the drive - thru empty.
I'm eager to try Shake Shack. But better than In & Out doesn't say much.

I guess this place is a must try for me when I'm in town. Sadly, even though I visit NYC quite often, I haven't ate at a Shake Shack yet,... Also, I'm not a fan of In-N-Out and Five Guys...

As a born and raised guy from LA I can tell you in n out is great the first couple dozen times you eat it. It gets a little old. You must order a double double with lite lettuce and onions. I am looking forward to trying the shake shack this coming weekend when I come in. As far as chain burger places are concerned I thing Hamburger Habit (Just went public) is awesome. The burger is fresh and lite. The other place from here that I have been going to since 1977 or so is Fat Burger. Different from the rest and simply awesome but you must order it from the char broiler. Nothing like a double king chili cheese! Anyway cant wait to try shake shack!
