Would the best way be to ask the driver to take Paradise? Or the interstate? Different route? I arrive at 10:00 PM on a Thursday.

Depends on your definition of best? Quicker? Cheaper?

That time of night, the freeway is probably faster, but Paradise may be cheaper.

I'd also take a look at the WAX. You'd get downtown about the same time as a taxi would, and you'd save about $30.

    I agree with this.

took it a couple weeks ago and it was very simple. the bus only makes few stops and takes the freeway for a large portion of the trip.

    Runs every 30 minutes.

Now dont get confused. the signage is pretty poor if you arent used to the bus. The 109 also stops here and it will go downtown only to the transit station that is about a mile from fremont street. If you take that one you will have to transfer which is a pain.

So wait until you see the wax and get on it.

Also it seems to be that alot of people waiting in the bus stop give out bum information so dont trust them. Last time a guy told me to get on the 109 to get to fremont street, said he was going there too but didnt get on it. we both got on the wax when it showed up. So why the hell did he tell me to get in the wrong bus?

no idea but it seems to happen all the time.

So my stop would be 4th and Carson?

I will probably do that if I make the 10:18, my plane lands 9:45 I doubt I want to hang around till 11:18, unless I or my bags are a little late.

Shock, would paradise be much cheaper?

All travel in Vegas depends on traffic. That time of night, assuming no traffic on either route, I would guesstimate the tunnel and freeway would cost you about 10-12 dollars more than Paradise. Maybe $23 for Paradise. ~$35 for freeway.

If your timing works out, I would definitely take the WAX and yes, 4th & Carson is the stop.

Consider a sedan limo, you can get one for about $40 flat rate.

Do you have a company for that rate? I considered that but when I booked it I was told it would be a 2hr trip and it came out to like $90...

Mileage rates went up 10% to the odd rate of 22c per 13th of a mile ($2.86/mile before fuel surcharge). Other rates got bumped 5 to 10% as well.

Hopefully that $21 includes your tip, that still seems high otherwise.

So now more than ever, the WAX is a very smart choice for downtown.

Did not include tip, but I was expecting $25 from the above website. Before looking at the website I thought it would be $10-12.

That must have been return. I've done a walk-up at the airport for $40 or $45 for a sedan plus tip. Much nicer ride than a stinky old cab.

Thanks flusher, is there a stand or area in the terminal to get this? I agree for $10 or $15 more than a cap it is worth it, obviously I am hoping to catch the bus. I am torn between saving $ and getting to my hotel asap so I can go to MSS AND hit the bar tops for craft beer.

In no way so I see myself waiting over 30 mins for the bus. I thought of super shuttle but I also read wait times can be miserable...

Reason I ask about the airport is because in chicago it is not legal for limos to solicit rides...

I have started taking one of the shuttles to downtown. For less than 10$, I am downtown in around 30- 45 min, and get to see lots of the strip on the way. On the way home back to the
airport I get a cab and tell them which route to take.
