Was thinking of doing a slot pull with my buddies. Are there any one coin $5 Slots or are they mostly 2 coin max?
I do not recall seeing one coin $5 slots. You can always just play one coin on a $5 slot, or just play max coin on a 5 line $1 slot.
Single $5 machines are rare. Sometimes the high limit area has $1 machines that really need to be played at $5-$20 a pull, give or take. On the older machines there is only one payout that pays higher for 2 coins - the top jackpot. And, many of them do not even have that. So, playing one coin per spin is not a bad bet.
IMHO, it depends on what the top payout is for 2 coins vs. 1 If the top payout for 2 coins is only 2x the 1 coin payout, then 1 or 2 coins doesn't matter. If the top 2 coin payout is more than 2x the top 1 coin payout, then it would behoove you to play two coins. ex. top 1 coim payout is $4000 and top 2 coin payout is $8000, no difference. If the top 1 coin is $4000 and the top 2 coin is $10000, then 2 coins is the better percentage bet.
Look for a 3 reel single line machine where the top payout for 1 coin is 800 and for 2 coins it's 1,600. Or any machine where there's no "bonus" on the top payout for playing more than one coin. It may take a while to find one, but every casino I've ever been in has them. If the payout for 2 coins is only slightly higher than 2x (like 1,200 / 2,500) then it's no big deal.
Thanks the more I thought about it though I thing I would be more fun to play Wheel of Fortune. But maybe we should bump it down to the $1 Level if people only wanna put in $20. (There are 5 of us.)
There is a Double Diamond slot that doesn't penalize you for not playing two credits. I won four thousand bucks on one at Planet Hollywood a few years ago. It pays 800 credits for playing one credit and 1600 credits for playing two. I still have to throw some money in everytime I see one but have yet to get lucky again. Mark
