    Folks,

I may not be quite the "regular" that a lot of you other folks are -- I make it about every five years or so. I think it's time to go in 2015, and I usually go in May or June. I'll drive down from Oregon, so I'm mainly wondering about temperatures and perhaps any hotel cost strangeness between May and June. I definitely want to avoid the really hot weather in July, August and whenever, but I do want it to be nice and warm, and, more importantly, I want clear skies, as I like to take a lot of pictures.

So, if you have any thoughts about when to go within that timeframe (or when NOT to go), I'd love to read your thoughts.

    Thanks!

It's clear most days in Vegas. I can't recall it being oppressively hot in either May or June. As for hotel prices, Memorial Day weekend is expensive. Otherwise, check the convention schedules. That's the only other factor I can think of in those two months that would drive the prices. Have fun!

June can get really hot. I went in 2013 and it was a good 105' and higher.

May is usually great! I have been twice in June, once it reached 109 which was a bit above my comfort level. The second trip it stayed 101 about every day. Another event in JUNE is the EDC, it drives rates through the roof and lots of hotels sell out. EDC is Electric Daisy Carnival by the way. It usually starts around the third weekend in June.

I have founds Memorial Day weekend is usually pricey but the days directly after Memorial Day (Tuesday, Wed and Thursday) are very reasonable. I do not go in the summer so can’t speak on the temps between the 2 Months

Late May and early June are decent for the weather. If you don't plan to actually get into the pool, I would pick the earlier of that time frame. We went over Mother's Day 2013...the highs ranged from 80 to 100 and was the best weather we ever visited under. The expected high for that time of year is about 88. By the 2nd week in June, the average high moves to about 97. Vegas is still bearable sub 100, but high 80s are really great there. It begins to really suck above 105, imo.

I see you're from Oregon, we're from up near Tacoma, WA.
We've been the last two April's and the weather is PERFECT! for us northwesterners. 80's and not a cloud in the sky!

I'd book early May if it were me.

I went in may and again in june this year. We hit 101 one day in may and i saw 110 one day in june. But it wasn't that bad. You aren't working road construction, youre in AC most of the time. If you walk the strip, drink plenty of water.

I prefer May as I find June can be pretty hot.

Late April into May is probably my favorite time to visit Las Vegas.

May will start in the high 80's and by the end of the month plan on mid-high 90's, some time in may will come the first real hot spell of 4 or 5 days in the 100's. In june you can plan on 100+ most days although early june could get a cooler spell if you're lucky.
I always go in late may or early june because I want hot weather after going through a long MN winter.

As a golfer, I normally book my trips from late April to early May (or late September to early October) as the temps are ideal ranging from the low 80s to upper 90s. For June, the temps range from 90s to low 100s. Also, the hotel prices may be cheaper with the exception for dates around EDC.

I went once the week before Memorial Day and it was very windy, cool (jacket or sweatshirt), and rainy. Sat by the pool one day, but as soon as the sun past, it was too cool to sit out there.

I'm pretty sure that was abnormal.

I'm hoping for the week after Memorial Day this year, if the stars align correctly on the monetary side of things.

Thanks for your thoughts, everyone -- much appreciated!

While I want to avoid hundred-degree temperatures, the absolute worst would be rain and/or overcast skies. I suppose the later I go (within the May-June timeframe), the less likely I'll see anything other than clear blue skies....

I'd rethink that. We've been twice the first week in July and the pools were closed at least half the time due to lightning. Have had freinds down there the last 2 years in the middle of June and they had flash floods, including in some casino's.

Our anniversary is May 8 so probably 2/3 of our trips have been in May. The weather is great - not too hot! Second choice - October.
