There's a post on their Facebook page from someone who checked in right before Christmas and was told they had switched to all non-smoking rooms a week or so earlier.

That is good news. I can't find it on their website and I don't follow it on FB. Is there any other source to confirm?

Looking on the web, I can't ask for a smoking room on a hypothetical booking this Sunday night unless it's a Sky Suite. I applaud the change...but that doesn't guarantee your floor will be smoke free.

Last trip to Vegas, I smelled weed in the hall at Mandalay Bay on a non-smoking floor. And this is completely standard for a non smoking floor at places like the Linq. I am really getting tired of the "censored"-bag stoners that think it's ok to smoke weed in your room on a non-smoking floor. It's like a tobacco smoker lighting up right in the middle of the hall.... and then having the smoke directly coming from a skunk's ass.

Tringlomane, you'd think they'd be more discreet. Especially with other options available like edibles etc.

From what I hear, the high, the intensity and the length of the high is completely different when going to edibles.

I hope someone builds or converts a major property to a TOTAL smoke-free hotel/casino, so all the "smoke-****s" will have a comfortable, totally smoke-free environment to congregate and patronize and will shut- up about it! And I don't mean on here... I realize I'm in a no-smoking thread... I'm just tired of the no smoking, no gluten, turn down the music, what someone else is doing is bothering me and I want them to stop crowd in general. Now I feel better... carry-on.

For the record, I don't smoke (never have), just not a member of the crusade.

Interesting... smoking rooms/floors have definitely been shrinking over time. I'm not surprised the Aria would be first to go full no smoking. It will be interesting to see the net impact of this - will enough nonsmokers come and spend more money, or will enough smokers be turned off by this to cost them money?

I don't think it will hurt Aria, they were down to only one (non-Sky Suites) smoking floor anyway.

For me the equation is that the top half tier MGM properties no longer have enough inventory of suites at my price point to make getting one reliable, so it's hello Cosmo.

Super Bowl weekend?? Forget paying for an upgrade. All the suites will be taken. if your play is sufficient and you have a host, ask him or her. That's really the only way to get a skysuite on SB weekend. Maybe you can pay to get an upgrade on Wednesday night, but a ton of high rollers come in on Thursday and Friday, so suite availability is based entirely on your level of play

That sucks. Even a standard room at Aria is very nice, though. You all will have a blast

They tried this in Atlantic city at revel. It wasn't their only problem, but it was definitely one of the reasons they shut down and went into bankruptcy. Near the end they switched to smoking in the casino and I think the rooms too, but it was too little too late. Something about smoking and gambling goes together I guess...

When I was booking my first trip to LV, I was actually surprised to see that there weren't any fully non-smoking resorts, I'm usually OK as long as there isn't someone smoking right next to me (apart from the mandatory turbo-shower as soon as I'm in my room) but my wife suffers quite badly in smoky atmospheres and we'll have to be careful where we hang out when were in Vegas.

We're in MGMG and the Aria Sky Suites while we're over, so will be keeping an eye on what happens at Aria.

Interesting point about two activities going together jaybert, I guess it will eventually come down to market forces, you'd think that trends in smoking would suggest sooner or later it would make sense for someone to take the plunge.
