Not stayed there but great location....the new Linq complex is next door. They have recently redone the rooms and the pics posted looked good. PH is a pretty short walk.....Flamingo / Cromwell / Bally's then PH.....we do the walk many times each trip.

Just returned from a stay at the Linq. As you hinted there are “pro and cons” now, but am sure by March things will improve. Overall, we gave our stay there a “thumbs up”.

    Here are some notes to help you decide;

As mentioned, the location is excellent. Everything Mid-strip is an easy walk, (that is a Vegas walk). Cab stand is just off the lobby door and the monorail is reasonably close by at Harrahs, next door.

The casino is just large to find everything you need, but not “get lost in size” like MGM.

The room re-do are good, cheerier and bright, but just a small rectangle room. The all new bathrooms have good lighting with walk-in shower only. No clock or coffee makers in the rooms. Some rooms can be a long hallway walk which is dark and lonely and lacking security cameras, but there is 24/7 security at the lobby elevator checking room keys.

As of now there is no functioning pool, spa or gym in the building. There is also no “resort fee” because of this, however, guest are welcome to use the facilities at Flamingo for a small use fee. $10 a day for the spa, $5 for the gym.

There is access to O’Shea’s from the Linq casino which if you follow it through you arrive mid area of the Linq Promenade and directly across from the side door of the Flamingo where you can find all that Flamingo has to offer including coffee and sweets in the morning. There is no coffee shop in the Linq, yet. Right now the building is still under construction and you see and hear lots of worker in and around the building, but
again, I am sure by March much of this will be completed.

Hope this helps, I invite you to read my Trip Report, “Linq’in up with Rodeo Vegas” now posted in TR thread section for some other thoughts on staying at the Linq.

One of the ladies in our office has stayed there all this week and has really enjoyed it. Like me, she's in Vegas a lot and has stayed at many, many different properties... her "nod of approval" is worth while.

I've said this in other threads but I really enjoyed my stay there in November. Enough so that I'm booked there again in March.

Love love love the location, it's probably the best on the strip. The rooms were nice and very modern. Casino has great variety and being connected to O'Sheas is never a bad thing. I loved how the rooms were close to the casino, front desk, convenience store and hash house a go go. Made everything a really quick journey before/after bed.

It's probably a 10-15 minute walk to planet hollywood, depending on your foot speed (I'm a fast walker). I've stayed at PH in the last year and have appeared to move my home base from there to the Linq. I just like the location better and the casinos are comparable. I love the PH casino and will still go there several times a trip, but I like the Linq almost as much, if not as much. I also love the slots at Harrahs, so being right next door to there is a huge bonus for me. Plus you're right beside flamingo and basically the cromwell, right across from Caesars and they are building a Wallgreens (it may even be open now) with a dennys and white castle right beside Casino Royale, which is also a 5 minute walk away.

Can't recommend the place enough, enjoy your stay!

Do you know how long until Linq starts to charge resort fees? I'm booked at Flamingo on a comp in the middle of January, but I would quickly switch to the Linq if resort fees were $0. I appreciate the review. Thanks.

    Hey Matti,
I can't give you a time frame on the resort fee or the resort facilities. I know it's coming because in the new elevators there, is a button for "Spa" and one for "Pool". We we're looking for the area one day during our visit and pushing the button took us to the sixth floor which looked no different then any other floor. We walked the hallways looking for something or even something under construction but found nothing. So based on that I don't think that anything will change by mid-januray, There is lots of construction on-going, but I think that they are still working on the rooms and on the exterior, painting and removing the "pagota" peaks. I really can't say for sure, we just happened to fall into it when we arrivied. We had a reason to call there before our trip and really nice people usually answer the phone, maybe thats the best way to find out for sure.

I agree with cjohnson. The LinQ, in my case, may also be my permanent home hotel. I am staying there in the Spring. I have stayed at Imperial Palace many times over the years, but mainly because it was cheap. I hated the casino, the ambiance was pathetic.

But the LinQ casino and entertainment center is now my favorite place to hang out. The casino has higher ceilings, they have monitors all over the place to watch games, Brooklyn Bowl is a fun place to see a concert, and the vibe at O'Shea's is great along with the LinQ walkway.

I love the look of the rooms, will be looking forward to staying there. And they have a Fridge. I really like the quirkiness of having the Do Not Disturb signs saying "nope" and "yep", the shampoo dispensers, the USB outlets right next to you, the 47" TV, the hidden bathroom sliding doors, and the closets.
I usually stay in comped rooms for 5 nights at a time, like PHO in August and November, but my comped days (5 nights), have mostly dried up. But the LinQ is still cheap (price wise) on my TR calender.
I look forward to the new pools coming and the Vortex.

I have a group of 6/7 staying at the Linq in March and while my room is comp'd, the other two are not. They were wondering if the resort fees would be charged by then or not (difference of $100 per room)...so I have sent them a message on twitter asking if they know when they'll start charging again. If I get an answer, I'll post it here.

I'd be tempted to try the Linq. The kicker for me is that the pool at Flamingo really hits the mark for us!

We stayed at Bally's 2 years ago and the pool there was so boring that we paid extra to use the pool at the Flamingo. (I realize that we could do that again...but the starting rates for me are already higher at the Linq than at the Flamingo).

I'm looking for an excuse to try somewhere new...but the pool and rates at the Flamingo (comp'd or close to) have me going back there everytime - after a 1 night stay downtown each trip.

There was talk of a cabana room at Linq... anyone heard of that? (they have since removed it from the website).

I Just watched a youtube video on the rooms...THEY ARE SMALL!

Sorry for the delay, obviously holidays have gotten in the way!

They did reply and told me "resort fees are mandatory and are still being charged"

obviously that's a lie, but it's clear they are not advertising the current no resort fee policy

Hmm interesting with the resort fee being waived thing. My SO just surprised me with a birthday Vegas trip in 12 days and we are staying at the linq comped minus resort fee. It would be awesome if they also waived the $100 resort fee as well.

To those people who have stayed at the LinQ...........can you confirm that Wi-Fi is available to the rooms? I heard that Wi-Fi hot spots are located throughout the property. I believe the LinQ is the first CET hotel to offer this. Is this correct?

Thank you, appreciate it. Now, instead of going to the LinQ entertainment center to do my data business, i can do my e-mails, internet, etc on my phone in the room. Couldn't do that (Wi-Fi) at PHO in November.

Unless you are Diamond or Seven Stars then this is what the CET website has to say about resort fees

"ANY RESERVATION BOOKED ON 11/10 OR LATER WILL BE CHARGED A RESORT FEE.". I do know that the LINQ has added a resort fee to their rooms because I thougth about booking 3 nights comped there for MM and when the total came up it looked like this......

    March 22-25th (3 nights)
    Subtotal:$0.00
    Resort Fees: 75.00
    Taxes:$9.00
    Total: $84.00

$25.00 a night resort fee for the Linq !!!
