What is going on this weekend? Hotel rates are really high! Anyone find decent deals for a strip hotel for that weekend?

    ^^^ this ^^^.

The NCAA men's basketball tournament is a big deal in Las Vegas. Sportsbooks are packed Thursday and Friday for 12 hours of nonstop basketball games. Saturday and Sunday are only half as many games so the Sportsbook atmosphere isn't as exciting (or super crowded) as Thursday-Friday. We're in the Book for almost every game Thurs and Fri, but Sat-Sun we watch some games, but also do some gaming, go to the pool, etc.

I am going then, I found a pretty good deal at Mirage but I booked a while ago. I would book asap whatever you can live with, and keep checking in case prices go down. It's a super busy time there.

My birthday weekend! I'm that important!

No seriously, it's what everyone else said, first weekend of march madness. :(

Vegas birthday trips for my g/f: 3...Me: 0

We have lately been getting my butt kicked in Tunica that weekend instead.

as others have stated it's the start of the march madness tournies. Having said that, March is one of the busiest months in Vegas as the pools are opening, the weather is consistently good and colleges are on spring break. Oh, and don't forget St. Pattiess Day!

Same story here... Mine is the 18th. In Austin we have SXSW (a huge music fest) so far this year I have three shows that night...
I keep trying to get to Vegas for my birthday but MM is so big I can't get anyone to join me...

    Life is so hard...

It's not a "strip" hotel but for under 400 bucks for 18-22nd, the Palace Station should fit your needs. Free shuttle to fashion show mall every hour on the hour and walking distance down Sahara to the new SLS hotel. Just a suggestion.
