Heynow Gamblers....... anyone stay/play at the Peppermill in Reno lately ? It is where I am leaning right now. Liked it last time several years ago, eight maybe ? Stayed at the Sands last year and OK but a little rough around the edges.

It looks like I am lucky enough to be headed back to Vegas in February, I'll be driving again and my stopping point will be Reno on the way down from Seattle.

There is a chance I will drive down twice this year so was looking for a place where I might get a room discount with four hours of max bet .25 VP. I know this would be crazy talk for Vegas but Reno seems a bit scaled back. I arrived too late last year to get a players card at the Sands so have no idea how I would have made out. Not really looking for more than a casino rate for the next trip. The only Veags caisno I have points is Palms so no connection there.

The Peppermill looks like the biggest bang for the buck but have no idea if there is a better place. I wouldn't be leaving the property.

    Thanks
    Rusty

I don't think it's going to matter what casino you choose, if it's your first day having a players club card, no casino is going to really give you more than just a casino rate, for a room the same night.
Now, Peppermill IS the nicest property in Reno...but they also comp the worst (for quarter video poker)
For quarter video poker, I'd recommend Grand Sierra Resort, which is right off the 395 freeway...
After that, I would say probably Silver Legacy or Eldorado.

I agree the Peppermill is the "class" of Reno, but The Atlantis is right there as well... just a bit down the street and a VERY nice property.

Also a heads up if you ever arrive too late and the players club is closed.. Majority of the time, there are service buttons on the VP machines. Hit that button and when the slot manager walks up to you, ask him/her if they can get you a players card. So far its worked everytime.

I wish I knew about getting a card after hours last year at the Sands. Great advice, thanks. I didn't start to play until ten or so at night. Put a hundy in at the bar and I guess that's not a regular thing there. They treated me like royalty.

I have stayed at the Grand Sierra, nice place.......but the night I am staying it's almost double the Pepermill.....I am going to check the Atlantis.

    Thanks everyone..........
