I'm generally not a status level player (barely snuck into pearl last year with a ~$600 hotel spend in there). I'm paying for a roughly $3000 Bellagio stay in February, any idea what that gets in the way of tier credits? If I hit status this way vs purely gaming will it still trigger some offers? I'd assume that they would offer a low level room to get a crack at that same amount in the casino.

Spending in Las Vegas yields 25X TC per dollar.

$3000 = 75,000 TC. Enough for Gold level, which should, at a minimum get you Gold level corporate offers. I don't know how long it takes for those points to get credited. Plus, remember that anything comped on your stay will deduct from your hotel charges (TC points)

It is my understanding that spending and gambling are tracked and treated differently.

DaiLun's calculation is correct, it's 25 Tier Credits per $1 of hotel spend. That will put you at Gold level.

However, there's no such thing as "Gold Level" (or any other tier level) corporate offers. All offers are based on gambling activity.

What tier levels do get you are:
    • Slightly more earnings of Express Comps and Freeplay per coin in.
    • ~20% Tier discount on rooms (but most MGM properties generally have publicly available offer codes any any given time that are good for 20% off). Maybe this is what DaiLun was referring to.
    • Retail discount at the gift shops.
    • Other hotel perks like cutting taxi lines, etc.

It's all spelled out on the MLife website.

You will get 75k points based on the spending of the room. Also if you charge anything to the room those would accumulate TC's as well. Also did you book the room via the Bellagio/MLIFE or through a 3rd party like Orbitz? If so, you're out of luck. No TC's available on that spend.

You will be gold and will get the benefits (not much) of having gold status. Any offers you generate (outside of the standard % discount for tier status) is based purely on gaming. So don't expect anything for future Bellagio offers if you don't gamble.

This should be a flashing sticky or something (LOL)

Offers are based on your level of play (ADT) and not of your tier level. For many people, the two go side by side, but for many others, there is no correlation.

They give offers because they hope you will come and gamble at a level similar to your past history.

Thanks for the replies. I booked direct with hotel reservations. I figured not a lot would come of a hotel spend, but I wasn't sure how they treated those dollars.

Cosmo treats the hotel and F&B spend very well. You can get Gold for spending $4k and you get free nights and 5% back as Resort Credit.

This is an interesting statement and would not surprise me if MLife and CET properties add this to their offers.
Retail sales of RFB have become a higher percentage of revenues for all properties while comps seem to have tightened.
Speaking to both independent hosts and on property hosts, they have said it is the new trend.
All my offers come from the casino side but I would not be surprised to see hotel marketing get involved in sending offers for big $$ spenders.

When I stayed at Mandalay Bay in August, I charged everything to the room. I would notice about 5-10 minutes after a charge the tier credits were added to my account. I hit the Gold Level after a dinner, and went up and got the gold cards. This was before I checked out. I believe the actual charge for the room is added after you check out.
