Slot players - What's your FP strategy??

I often see slot players "milking" out their FP playing minimum bet pennies.

My strategy is different . . . I go into the high limit pit and play the highest denomination that I can "stand". (So far never more than $10 x 2)

My thoughts:

1) The house PC on the higher denominations is lower

2)All you need is one hit

I did this on Sunday and hit $800 on Freeplay

What's your strategy?

 

I always try to get even money - so I always play $1 JOB VP. I usually get at least 80% - some times more.

 

Pretty much what JosieCat does. Head for a $1 VP machine and run the FP through once. Then take what I have left and that's the seed for the next trip's bankroll.

 

Yes, I run mine through once. Download $100 and 20 spins later, cash out the tito. It sounds like you do yours at the end of the trip. My FP is used first thing.

 

I don't get the FP coupons very much anymore (sometimes they do come as a surprise!) usually I get $5 coupons (yeah, I know, {twirling index finger}) but when I do, here's what I usually do:

If I'm going to be going and playing anyway, I'll simply use the FP to start out with.

If I'm simply in the area and won't be staying very long, I'll go to a $.05 or $.25 VP machine and play until it's gone or else when it gets up to $10 I will take it and walk.

 

Like dmr, our FP is $5. We play $1 slots with it and try to make a quick hit.

 

Always use it on video poker.
$200 or less is on 25c bonus poker
$200-$500 is on 50c bonus poker
$500-$1000 is on $1 bonus poker
$1000-$2000 is on $2 bonus poker
If I ever get more than $2000 in one shot, it'll be on $5 bonus poker.

Edit: recently I sucked out $390 on $1 bonus, only because we were in an extreme hurry...managed to suck out $675 after hitting a straight flush.

 

Usually hit the HL $5 machines, or a 20 line Divinchis Diamond $1 machine, run it through once and hope of a big hit. Occasionally it works.

 

I'm not very bright so I aim for the fences. I play super high volatile games. Aria in sept I had 400$ FP and used it all on WWIII slot at 10$ a spin hoping for a +10k hit. Didn't get that but did win 800$.

 

I run my FP through on $1 VP throughout the trip when I need to top up my daily budget due to it taking a beating.

 

I just add it to and treat it as part of my bankroll.

 

I'll have $150 when I go in 2 weeks and I plan to probably play some WMS G+ Deluxe at $2-$4 a spin. Usually I'm a 40-80 cent player so I'm hoping for a big win!

Probably Alexander the Great, Hercules or something..

 

It is treated exactly the same as cash. It plays the same. I win or lose the same. It is cash. I play it the same as any other cash.

I either play it on something I would normally not play or I play it on an old fave and try to break even on it.

 

I agree. I used to play conservatively with the rationale that I wanted to convert the freeplay into as much "real" cash as possible, because the real cash, when recycled, earned credits and comps and counted towards ADT.

Then a couple of trips ago I switched up. $100 FP at Caesars yielded $500 on a single spin on a $100 machine, and $250 in FP at Aria turned into $12K in 10 spins on a $25 machine.

Yeah I got lucky, but I'm not going back to the old way for FP.

 

The one thing I have noticed with free play, and I'm sure this has happened within the last year, is that now when you start off with a FP coupon, the "bar" for the first point does not start to move until that value has been put through the machine once. I know this used to start immediately. I think this happened about the time they switched from the TITO-like coupons, to those that have a code number you have to enter.

 

What's "not very bright" about your strategy? Hey, I guess that makes two of us. As far as I'm concerned, it's a valid strategy since I consider it "free money" that I have to play through at least once.

I was curious to see what people's thoughts were.

 

I've got a chunk of FP coming up and will be using it in the HL area. I'm just trying to figure out on what machines, reel, video slots, or VP. Maybe I'll donate to all three varieties.

 

I look at it that way too. I don't think there is a wrong strat here. Conservative plays make sense to try and win the value of the FP itself but as we said it's "free money" so I'm trying to hit the grand salami
