Admittedly I do a poor job of paying attention to my numbers as I play, but do like to know the totals at the end. I played for the first time at Venetian last weekend, giving them way more time and bankroll than I intended- I'm curious of my numbers, and have no host.

I spent 30 minutes on hold with the grazie desk, the only info they would release was 9.18 hours play with average slot bet of 2.89. They said they called a host but claim they don't know my theo or the loss, only will prepare a win/loss at end of year. My guess in all this is a loss of about $2500 there.

Has anybody been told this nonsense about not doing the calculations, and, is there a better way to get numbers? I've left a message for a host to call with numbers, but I have low expectations of hearing anything.

    Thanks!

Grazie Status Points from gaming are 100% based on theo, even slots.

If you're not Gold, and you know how much your hotel bill was:
Multiply the hotel bill and any hotel spend where you gave them your card at the point of purchase without charging to the room (probably not including taxes, but I'm not sure) by 5, that's how many Status Points you got from hotel spend.

Subtract that number from your Total Status points.

Divide the result by 10. That's your theo.

P.S. Of course they should be able to tell you your actual loss.

    Thanks Chuck, that makes sense.
But, I also had done a couple walk throughs on previous trips, but doubt it amounted to too much.

Based on that.....with things very rounded out here.....
    $100 hotel spend = 500 points
    20,000-500= 19,500 / 10 =
1950 Theo (probably a little high based on the couple previous short walk throughs)
$2500 loss (based on empty wallet)

Sound about right with 9.18 hours at 2.89 avg in your opinion??

Ridiculous after play they won't release any numbers......

The theo-to-loss ratio wouldn't be out of line, but the theo sounds a little high if we use these envelope numbers:

    Round the $2.89 to $3
Put the theo hold % at 15% (assuming penny machines), so $0.45 theo per spin.

    $1,950 / 0.45 = 4,333 spins

4,333 spins in 9.18 hours is 472 spins an hour or 7.87 a minute, about one spin every 7.5 secs. Do you play that fast? Most pennies have bonus rounds that would slow things down. It sounds ballpark, but maybe a little high. If the hold % on pennies is higher than 15%, you get closer.

We are fast players, and it was the lack of bonus rounds that did us in. I know some of those points had to be previously earned from the walk through on prior trip, but it wouldn't have been much- maybe 1000 or 2?
Does that put it in a more reasonable range?
I guess what it does tell us is that the THEO couldn't have been any higher than 1950....more likely 1700 or 1800?

That's how it should work out.

Once you went over 20,000 Status points, you'd start getting 50% more per spin, but if you just edged over the 20,000 mark, then it wouldn't throw off the calcs by much.

I didn't even go over the 20K. I knew what I had paid on the hotel, and had them confirm the total wasn't yet included - it actually takes about a week they said. So, I only have a few hundred over the 20K, but only once the hotel is thrown in!

    How's that for close, lol?

Thanks a bunch chuck, it helped me make some sense of the numbers~ much appreciated!

She may have hit more theo from those walk through s than she thought. It's also possible the theo is greater than 15%, but at least for IGT most of their penny slots do not have a payback setting below 85% return.

Unfortunately NO CLUE what we had for points....wow, realizing I should likely keep notes, will start that next trip.
Played mostly Buffalo, some progressive 88 game and lotus. Not sure if the holds on those!

Getting theo numbers out of even a host can sometimes be difficult.

They keep those things close to the vest. Probably because knowledge is power and the more you know the more you can work the system and the less they can get away with screwing you.

I thought they were just pulling my chain cause I'm a low roller there. Totally get about how the info can be misused. Every trip I try and guess what my offers will do. Pretty much been off every time, lol! I like to refer to this as just having enough information to make you dangerous. That's me.

Since we no longer have online access to our accounts the easiest way to track your tier/status points, holiday shopping points, comp points, etc…is by using one of the many machines in the casino set up for this purpose. Just slide your player's club card into it, put in your password and then there's a option to select to get that information. I usually take photos with my cell at the start and end of my trip of that information. Those machines will also print out new player cards for you when you need them so no need to stand in line at the Grazie player's club desk for that info.

Thanks Evoni, I saw the machines but didn't use them at all! Great thinking with taking a pic of your info!

Yeah I based the hold % on a measured session I did at Palazzo a couple of years ago after V/P went to awarding Status Points based on theo instead of coin in. A 5 cent denom Wolf Run machine was 12.5% I guess that's an IGT machine. I figured 85% was a good ballpark for a penny machine, especially if it's "themed" or a progressive, etc.
