Getting ready for a trip next week. I was looking at my players cards and the stack just representing Las Vegas is getting out of control for the amount of rewards/comps I actually get. Why? Because most of those places I very rarely go to due to location or just preference, and so they don't appreciate my business that much. Understandable, no hard feelings. One of the things that makes Las Vegas great is the volume of choices you get. I will still visit places I don't "frequent", but I think i'm going to toss all my Vegas cards except these: MLife and TR - many locations on the Strip, so even when I move from place to place, the points earned add up on each other. Identity -They don't give me much, but they do give me free rooms from time to time and I love the casino. Golden Gate - Always free room offers, food and free play. I'm not judging anyone's experiences with their players cards, please do what you want. But I feel a weight lifted!
I wish I had the discipline to do this. I still have my Bill's card in my stack! But seriously I always make a visit to Wynn and play a decent amount of my bankroll there and I never get any offers other then two nights Weekdays $129 and Weekend $219 3rd free with $200 free credit. Since I do not commit a lot more of my BR there, . I'd probably get better offers from the places I do stay at for free. but you know.. Vegas is not a trip for me without visiting Wynn.
I have three plastic bags in my suitcase. Strip Downtown Other I pull out the bag for the area that I'm going to. I'm a slot player so i have two (or more) cards per casino. I realize that I can always get cards if i don't have 'em, but that would just mean that the stack would get bigger when I got home.
I pack the cards of the hotel where I am staying and the couple casinos I am positive I will visit. I generally only need to bring three or four. The rest: I have a new one printed if I need one. They change designs all the time and make great souvenirs.
I did the same a few years ago. I still have a stack I always bring to Vegas (mlife, TR, Identity, Red Card, and Grazie), but I don't carry them all the time. It felt good to dump several of them in the past
I pretty much don't carry anything with me except my Noir card. I throw out all the rest at the end of each trip. next trip, when I first show up somewhere else, I just give them my ID and get a new card.
I don't bring any with me. When I buy in i give them my Id and they give me a new card. I have like 5 of the same card from each casino. They pile up with my room keys. Vegas souvenirs
The only ones I've ever thrown out are Casino Royale (though with their new losses promotion, I got a new one last trip), Binions (I hardly go downtown) and Ellis Island. I usually only get use of my Total Rewards (platinum) and Mlife (Pearl), though I've been almost 99% playing TR only the last 2 trips. I also carry my Grazie, Identity, Hooters and Trop cards, because I'll dip into each of those casinos usually once a visit. And last trip I got a golden gate card because I wanted to play walking dead while there and I knew I could earn the $10 freeplay after 100 points pretty quickly, so why not. Oh and I keep my Treasure Island card because every once and awhile I get an email for $50 freeplay after 100 points or something like that, which makes it worth holding onto. I won't lie, one of my favourite pre-trip moments is taking all the gas cards and air miles cards out of my wallet before my trip and replacing them all with my Vegas cards. Love that feeling
We have cards from all the strip and downtown casinos and I used to bring them along on every trip and we'd use them when we went to each casino... But over the years I haven't chucked them out but there are lots we don't bring any more and instead just make sure we have our MLife, Total Rewards, Tropicana, Golden Nugget and Boyd cards. The rest we just don't need because either we will never stay at those properties and/or don't play enough at them to build up any comps that we could use.
I take mlife/TR/Identity and sometimes The D as far as throwing duplicates out?, hell no, they make great bookmarks and/or I give them to my kids to play "bank" with they think all plastic cards are debit cards or hotel keys
