I would like to second this one! I remember Westie from the other LV board and he (I am assuming Westie is a "he", correct? wrong?) kept us up to date on things like that over there as well.

Yep, Westie has been carrying the food load here, at LVA for eons, and I'd assume many other places. He is particularly adept at finding and keeping tabs on the scene away from the standard bearers known as the Strip and downtown, and outside casinos in general.

Someone mentioned gregrio/riogreg: Never fun to lose anyone but he stood out for being a particularly good soul and an absolute freak about the Vegas entertainment scene. I tapped his expertise -- and simply sheer excitement -- often back in the day.

VMB is like a family, maybe a day-care center for adults, and it most certainly is its own society. As such, everyone here is adept or inept depending on how we value and view things in the world, and pretty much most contribute, even if we don't always personal get it.

Back to the question: love a lot of people here and their perspectives and as such can't really single one out, and mostly because I value the variation in expertise each represents.

Gregrio is my all-time all-boards favorite poster.

Westie is great. Both illustrate the good that one can do by sticking to one thing and maintaining a positive outlook.

I also like Ken's writing a lot, although he is what the Bard would call "caviary to the general."

My favorite trip reporter is Big Loser, who, alas, has not made any recent reports.

I think Kickin is my east coast alter ego, and I agree with most everything Ken posts. BJs posts are the funniest. Shifter has the best info on the MGM universe. But Nate's are my favorite.

I think he still lurks. I've gotten PMs from him occasionally in response to a post, last one was about 6 weeks ago. I remember he mentioned he was getting tons of infractions so I just assumed he was restricted from posting until they expired.

I hope he starts up again. He had great info and I loved living vicariously through him with his carefree hedonist lifestyle!

Yeah, pp is still on the board and he sends PMs. As I have suggested before, he got tired of people contradicting the true, accurate and up to the minute info he posted. It is a shame that once a year visitors chose to argue with someone who is on the strip every night.

Nope, he wasn't restricted, just chose to leave. I think he still uses the messaging service pretty frequently

It's so weird how constant infractions can chase people away... :poke:

I agree with these two. I don't drink any more, but they just seem like two people that you just couldn't help enjoying sitting down and having a beer with.

Dewey is my favorite writer. He doesn't post here all the time, but he's a wealth of info and we've met in Vegas on two occasions. I'd bend over backwards to spend an hour visiting with him again.

I enjoy sco's discussions. A few others entertain me regularly.

I miss joyglen. His ridiculousness was amusing. But he can't be here no more, and that's kinda the reason Hardware don't post no more. And you have me to thank for the fact we can no longer throw around the term "****** bags" on this forum.

    It was a good run.

Dang, my screen got coffee spit over that one! Too funny. Yes, he knew his stuff and I miss his posts.

But to piggyback on what Ken said, there is a wealth of knowledge on this board and a wide range of experiences from fleas to high rollers, McDonalds breakfast burrito eaters to devotees of Joël Robuchon, I can't really single anyone out.
