My plan for today is set. All I need to do is put it into action.

I originally considered going to Golden Corral for dinner. I wonder if they have Senior Discounts? Well, no, I rejected that idea.

I'm going up the road to the gas station/convenience store/liquor store/car wash and replenishing my supply of Jack and get a 12'er of Coors Banquet.

    Get some Cheezeits.

    Watch football.

Dinner will be Zatrains Jambalaya with ham and fresh shrimp. I'll mix in some tomatoes, green pepper and fresh mushrooms. I have some frozen pork egg rolls for a side dish.

Hopefully, I end up in my bed instead of the floor at 3 A.M.

I assure you, I am dead serious about all of this.

I normally treat TGV'in like any other day of the week but this year I'm going to dine at a Buffet somewhere downtown with my friends family.
I don't know what's worst... Waiting to eat at 3:00PM or hanging out at a Buffet full of old Florida Folk. I mean older than me haha!
On a side note -- This morning around 7:30AM my lazy street came alive with 3 Fire Trucks, 2 Ambulances and with Firemen all over the place.
They were at an elderly couples house 2 doors down. Not sure what the fuss was all about. I didn't see any smoke nor was anyone wheeled out.

I know where I'd be if I was in Las Vegas today! Wynn's Buffet! :licklips:

Thanksgiving was headed that direction for me because family dinner isn't til Sunday. But we are "going fishing" and hitting a riverboat casino with dinner at their Steakhouse. Need some fun to kick off a good, long weekend that's bound to be full of household projects.

My mother, my g/f, and I decided to try this on t-giving two years ago. We rejected the idea when we saw the line out the door. I'm guessing the line could have been a couple of hours at least. They have lunch specials for seniors on normal weekdays, but no way in hell for today.

So we went to hollywood casino St. Louis instead. G/f won $150 on a 25c bet, so it was a good decision.

I only eat turkey on Thanxgiving because that's what people usually do at other's homes. But if I went out to eat at a restaurant, no way would I order turkey. I would get a steak or anything besides turkey. If I'm by myself at home, I just treat it like any other day I'm home.

I cooked up a fresh turkey bought from the farm down the street. Sure beats Butterball! Stuffed it with garlic, carrots, celery, onions and fresh thyme. Extremely tender and flavorful. Ate it at my son's house with the new grandson (1 week old). My son took down all the directions since some day he us going to have to wear the big boy shoes and cook the annual family bird!

In my 58 years only once have I eaten out on Thanksgiving and that wasn't by choice. A blizzard in 1970 made that decision for us!

Hope all enjoyed your day the way you choose to enjoy it! I hear a bottle of red wine calling my name from the wine cave!

Quite a few years back we had no plans as neither of our parents were doing dinner. We ended up going to the church and having turkey dinner. Was a nice free-will dinner and got to visit a few fellow local people that were in the same situation. And, no clean up or mess at home. But we could of had zataran's and Coor's light and had a cozy afternoon too.
