I just left a BJ table where the table rules said, "Dealer hits on soft 17's and stands on all hard 17's and 18's".

I read this 5 times and something g doesn't look right. I've never seen a table rule read like this. Usually it would say Dealer hits on soft 17 and stands on Hard 17.

With the specific inclusion of the dealer standing on hard 18, I'm getting the sense that the blackjack odds for this game just became more unfavorable.

Has anyone seen this before or know what it means/if the odds are now less favorable?

The dealer always stands on any 18 in BJ. I'm not sure why they explicitly stated that on the felt either, but no it doesn't make the game any more or less unfavorable because it is always the norm.

Wow, I never heard of weirdly worded table rules like that. Just for giggles, where was it?

Thanks – I've never been there, but those rules (at least the way they're stated) are still most interesting.

If the table was written that way, I would demand the dealer to hit hard 19 and 20. lol Probably wont get anywhere, but worth a shot.

The dealer isn't hitting soft 18 are they (as that 18 remains unspecified)? That could be a problem then...
