I used to Like Patterson and Cussler but I think of them as editors more-so than authors nowadays

I enjoy Cussler's books as light hearted pot-boilers, and at least he has the decency to credit his co-writers, I'm sure a lot of other household name thriller writers have their books ghost written as well just to keep the conveyor belt of books flowing.

David Balducci and Michael Connelly sightings! Maybe I'm not crazy.

    Clive Cussler! Fun beach books.

Excuse my ignorance. Are "paperback" writers basically contemporary fictional authors? If so, I don't read much of them except perhaps Ken Follett, Bret Easton Ellis, and Ben Mezrich. I have read a few non-fiction, and many classic novels. Now that I'm not in school and don't have to read, I want to read some of the classics like Steinbeck, U. Sinclair, Bradbury, and Faulkner.
