Thanks for posting this and reminding me of Barney. He is one guy who always seemed to enjoy his job as he interacted with the customers. For a light read, he has written a couple of books with a ton of casino/dealer stories.

Porkchop: Be sure to look over the 'Sticky Post' by Ben Jammin
    https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?93780-Did-you-want-to-try-Craps-but-were-too-intimidated
There is a lot of useful information packed in there!

There is probably a post on here regarding craps etiquette.
    1) Make all your bets when the 'stick person' has them and the dice are in the middle of the layout. If they begin to move the dice out, tell them to wait a second while you make a bet. They will usually call out, 'All bets while dice are in the middle'.
    2) Never put your $ or hands down into the table when the dice are not in the middle. In fact keep everything behind the top rim when the dice are out. Doing this does nothing, but interferes with play. On top of it, if the shooter throws a seven right then or the dice hit your money. hand etc....you will be the victim that caused it!

On a moving game when a shooter is fast and hitting on a 'heater' (lot of numbers), don't slow down the play (meaning make all bets while the dice are in the middle or if the dice have moved out by the stick man, tell your dealer the bet you want to make and let him see your chips, he may at his discretion 'book' that bet by you calling it out to them.

Stay off the enticing 'crappy' bets in the middle of the layout or the 'Prop' bets (all the time). At least in the get go. If you watch anyone over the long haul betting these bets over & over, look at their bankroll when they leave. Don't get me wrong, they are fun and rewarding when they hit, but look at them as a fun-crappy bet that you will probably lose. There are however, short term variances when the crappy bets are coming up more than the average and call it what you will, there are streaks and if you happen to be on that number during that streak... all the better!

On a hot roll or 'Freight Train' all math goes out the window. Typically you are on to come numbers by that time and hopping that the waitress will blow on your dice. :evillaugh

This Thread already had Vincent's video, I would venture to say that a lot of what we post on here now has been posted one here in the past

Sustain your playing time waiting for a good shooter
This is a 'Proven Method' case study of over 200 Million shooters
(This does not guarantee a win, it limits your losses on random shooters waiting for a long roll, based on being on the pass line)
(I'm no Dr. Catlin, but I would venture to say if you use this method & see the SRR (Seven to Rolls Ratio) is under 6 on any given table,
that shooter or table would be ideal to be on the Don't Pass & Don't Come or 'Dark Side')

"Dr. Don Catlin, a mathematician at the University of Massachusetts, showed that the 5-Count eliminated 57 percent of the random rolls."

Although all casino games have a 'house edge', lowering the HE down to lowest possible number is your best bet.

Sucker Bets aka: The Middle of the Craps table bets, prop bets

    Do you bet them?
How do your start your bet and your progression?
Do you bet the easy ways while betting the hard ways? If not, why not?

    I know, it's a fun bet, who cares it's $1-$25.

Someone asked in another post about how the craps tables make their money, like 78% from the middle of the table or the sucker bets and they are correct about making some of their money from the middle bets, not sure on the pc though.

It was John Scarne that invented the middle layot for the casinos to make the game...well,
notice as I say....MORE profitable for the house (like it wasn't profitable enough!).
I think Mr. Scarne knew what he was doing!
The Fire Bet, All Tall All Small bets etc. are fun bets with a HE of around 8-27% good bet?
No, but a fun bet and if that ship comes in, yes it is lucrative, but it usually does not.

That said, the house is more concerned with the 'handle' or what the total amount of bets are being done at any one time on a craps table. This is how they factor what they should make and why you see $5-$25 dollar tables. They make more when the table average is higher of course.
However, I would think more casinos would have a $3 table with max odds of 5-10x. They would make a gold mine on the regular place bettors. That imho would be a money maker and the table always packed.
A table with no one playing is losing money. Walk up to the table and ask them to lower the minimum bet. The pit boss, many times will lower if you ask, unless it is an expected busy weekend, day/night, event, convention etc.

And now for a bit of 'The Wizard'.
The part where Angela asks about being short sticked is not only staged, but pretty comical for the Wizard.

I haven't either until recently, in fact I didn't even know they were on GTC or YT until I happened upon some on dice.
Lot of good info on the GTC site like some other sites.

Here is a couple of engaging reads!

Whether or not the Captain existed or had a purported roll of 147#'s is not relevant to me
