I am going back to Vegas for the first time in a few years. I'm not sure how much it has changed, but I'm trying to find the hidden gems or favorite buffets to get some good food. I liked the Ellis Island steak deal, but I take it that it's no longer a part of the menu? Any suggestions? I'll be staying at PH if that matters. Thanks.

My standard answer would be "Andiamo's Steak House" at the D. However, let me qualify that by stating that I have always been comped there.

If I were paying my own way, it would be:

    1)Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan
    2)Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's
    3)Wynn Buffet at Wynn

if I had a car, it would be:

1)Swish Shabu Shabu 5115 Spring Mountain Rd, 1st floor, Las Vegas, NV 89146
2)Kaba Curry 5115 Spring Mountain Rd, Ste 234, Las Vegas, NV 89146
3)Hot and Juicy Crawfish 4810 Spring Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89146

I've heard good things about the Boiling Crab on Tropicana. I've never been there, but it's on my list.
The two Chinese food places at Gold Coast are tasty also.
The tough answer to "hidden" is that if someone mentions it, it's not hidden any more.

    . Steak Dinner - Ellis Island - 24 hours - $7.99

The Ellis Island steak dinner (#2) is served in the Café and requires that you print out two coupons from an EI kiosk, the second after playing at least $1 in any slot machine with your club card inserted, to get the $7.99 price. In addition to the best steak deal in town, you’ll also be entertained while you wait.

Pizza Rock downtown, go during the happy hour for a solo for $7
Fatburger is good, right by PH
Earl of Sandwich is in the mall right by PH
800 degrees is good tasting pizza if you can keep the toppings on it(outside of Monte Carlo)
Five50 in Aria is also good

all good choices, let us know if you find a pearl!

As far as hidden gems, Jerry's Nugget has excellent prime rib and is terribly underrated and often overlooked.

Bob Taylor's Ranch House steaks put the oh-so-trendy Strip steakhouses to shame each time! Well worth the trip.

Bootlegger is often overlooked and great for Italian. Also Chicago Joe near downtown.

LOL, I can't think of any buffet that I would really recommend at this time.

BF and I ate at Yusho outside the Monte Carlo when we were there a few weeks ago. AMAZING food. The ahi appetizer was magical (and I don't normally eat raw fish), as was the crab fried rice. Steamed buns were tasty, as was the crispy chicken skin. I dreamed about the whole meal the rest of our trip.

My favorite place to eat is The Culinary Dropout at the Hard Rock. My experiences were a bit up and down at first, but now I've had a solid string of great meals. It's nothin' fancy, just good ole pub food and cooked fresh. The patio has wonderful views of the pool eye candy and the drinks flow freely.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, my go to response in these types of threads is also Andiamo at The D.

Impeccable service, top notch food, great atmosphere all at reasonable prices.

Thank all of you for the recommendation. Although I did not ask this question, I wish I had. So thank you to the original poster for asking about hidden gems.

My favorite restaurants are Aria Buffet, Blue Ribbon @ Cosmo, Sushi House Goyemon for AYCE sushi, and Noodles @ Bellagio. I need my Asian food wherever I go since I can't eat American food all the time.

The single best meal I have had in Las Vegas was at Botero steakhouse at Wynn/Encore. Favorite places to eat regularly are 777 at MSS, Noodle Exchange at Gold Coast, or Roku sushi in the forum shops.

Add the Yardhouse to one of my favourites (I think I already posted about Cheeseburger Oasis in miracle mile, but if that is in a different thread, check that out!) But yes, the Yardhouse. I went on a Monday where it was all night half-price apps. My meal (which was an app that came with fries) and a beer ($2 off beer also on the night) came to like $14. And it was probably the tastiest beer and food I had on my whole trip.

Have to agree with your here. Assuming the quality of the food is the same at all Yardhouse restaurants. We had dinner at Yardhouse inside Red Rock Casino and we loved it. The only thing we weren't really crazy about was the fact that the place was pretty dark. Think we'll have to try Yardhouse at the Linq Promenade next March.
