    Afternoon;

Never been to Vegas and I want to have a great experience. We selected the Linq as our hotel destination before realizing that it was a renovation of the Quad which has really poor reviews as of this month. I'm wondering if I should expect my experience to be more like the Quad than that of a new hotel? I see alot of advterising about its grand opening but i don't want to arrive and find out that only a hand full of rooms are renovated and it is a first come first serve appraoch. Does anyone know what I should expect come December when I will be arriving? Will the $200+million that there investing touch the problems that the Quad has been criticized for?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

You will be the pioneer. They did a great job with the casino so I'd expect the renovated rooms to be very nice.

For the prices they are asking....the rooms better be. I could never stay there knowing it was formerly the Imperial Palace.

I wouldn't want to take the chance. Been there, stayed there, but never again unless I would be guaranteed a renovated room. We prefer to stay at one of their nearby sister properties because we like the location.

Unless i'm wrong, ALL the rooms have been redone and on the website, that's why the high price (for IP). The Linq Hotel & Casino is entirely new. Otherwise, if they still had Imperial Palace/Quad rooms on the property, they would be priced similar to Bally's with the classic rooms in the North Tower, to Jubilee rooms with a Strip view in the South Tower (not including suites, just basic rooms).

i have stayed here the last 4 years. I have never had a problem. always a clean room and great service. will be there in early November so I get some pics of the new rooms as long as I get one. I will say though as of right now looking at next year I will stay at the flamingo because it will be comped and the linq will not be. I am easy going so just looking for a place to sleep for a couple of hours when in vegas. And free will win out most of the time with me.

Thanks Everyone. I wouldn't be concerned if they had shut down the hotel during the renovation as I could see all the rooms being complete however with continuing to house guests and not releasing the new rooms until october 30th there are obviously some that must still remain the quad. That's my concern. 13th annivesary so I don't wan tto have to deal with drama and day 1.

Just don't let them "upgrade" you to a suite on the first floor because they are out of the room type you booked... They did that to me back in April. I've never had to take one slow elevator to the second floor, then take a whole different slow elevator down one floor so I could get to my room. I'm just glad I didn't get too drunk that weekend. I would have never found my room.

On the bright side though... I doubt the unrefurbished IP/Quad room are available after this month so they can get them remodeled and back into circulation.

They did close down rooms to renovate and I understand folks have stayed in the new rooms and they are nice. They aren't 5 star, but fresh and new. The whole idea of the Linq is to appeal to the younger crowd and be on the forefront of technology.

I have stayed there before the room remodel, and the rooms are ok. They did an awesome job on the casino. I imagine the rooms will be great.

    Enjoy your stay!

Name me a hotel that shuts down entirely for a remodel like this. It's completely unnecessary. Remodels like this are done in phases. Look at Paris, for example. They added the "Red Rooms" without anyone really even noticing several years ago. Now if they would just finish what they started.

Sahara/SLS did... but then again, when they shut down the Sahara, most people thought they were closed for good.

I have friends staying there over Halloween weekend. Grand re-opening is October 30.

They are paying $99/night + resort fee. That was the basic promotion on Linq's website. No promo code needed.

I wonder if the balconies got a thorough cleaning with the remodel.

I think some balconies are still operational as they offer a pool cabana room which opens up onto the pool deck - second level I believe.

I guess this wouldn't be a true balcony as it looks like it's probably more of a patio.

Ah, yes...............the "Pigeon Poop" balcony's. Where the birds eat lunch on the McDonald's balcony next to Harrah's, and then poop onto the balcony's at the Palace. Nature is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

The ones we could see that they were working on at the backside (facing monorail) appeared to have had the balconies totally removed.

I had a room at the Quad booked for October 25th. Figured with it being 5 days before the big rebranding/unveiling of The Linq, it would basically be a new hotel. Sent a Twitter message to The Quad to confirm and they told me they wouldn't be releasing the new rooms until October 30th. I canceled my reservation and booked at Harrah's. I stayed at the IP a couple years ago. Most uncomfortable bed I've ever tried to sleep on. No thank you. I would assume those arriving in December would have nothing to worry about. Slower season in Vegas anyway. More rooms available.

I'm staying at the Linq from November 6-10 and couldn't be more excited. Renderings of the rooms look great, I expect them to be nice. Love the whole Linq area and the newly renovated Quad casino (now the Linq)

It appears the answer is yes, but I wanted to see if someone can confirm that all the rooms at the Linq have been remodeled. I'm spending two days at the MB, but need to find somewhere else for the next two. The calendar rates for Linq were suspiciously low...I'd rather fork the extra few dollars for Flamingo or Bally's if there's a chance I get a leftover IP room. Yuck.

Thanks in advance for any help!
