Hello, do you think that a strip view is worth it? I think it's probably worth it once to experience it but it's really just a wide street with a bunch of casinos. I could also see this being a good experience for someone from a small town. Maybe it also depends where on the strip you're staying?

It's worth it at the flamingo in floors 12-33.

Worth it at hooters for rooms ending in 23_

Worth it at the Bellagio if the curtains are open.

Worth it at Venetian if your from Wyoming, Utah or Alaska.

    No others are worth it.

It all depends......How much of a price difference you are willing to pay. We've stayed in several Strip view rooms and always enjoyed it. We never had to pay extra for them but we would be willing to pay a little extra for a strip view room. At night, I like to pull up a chair towards the windows and look at all the flickering lights before we go out or before we go to sleep. It's a view you won't get anywhere else and I like to suck it in for a while. I think it's a personal matter how much you are willing to pay for strip view. I can also imagine it depends on where you're staying. Don't care to much about a Strip view at the Stratosphere or SLS for example. Not too much to watch :)

It was something cool the first trip or two..... but even then I really only used the room to shower and sleep. You're best bet is book a standard room and when you get there see if there is a complimentary upgrade to a room with a view...... if its a slow week they may hook you up. I just can't see spending extra money to have a room with a view that I look at maybe once a day... and maybe snap a pic.

I agree with penquins.............in fact, what i do is ask for a high floor room and they usually give it to me because the higher rooms are less crowded. Many hotels have different banks of elevators, some hotels, like PHO, have banks that are separated by floor #'s, so my bank had floor # 27 and up express.
The fact of the matter is why look out the window? You didn't come to Vegas to observe it........you came to Vegas to live it.

I think it is just disappointing not getting a strip view. We had a good view of the highway from our room at Mirage this past summer, but was able to change it to a strip view the next night. Yes, we are hardly ever in our room, but we work hard all year and want the best experience when we are there. Same reason for sometimes paying a little extra for a suite. Something about seeing the lights at night or waking up and looking outside to see the strip, just adds to the excitement of being there.

We upgraded to a strip view at Treasure Island one time and could watch the Mirage fountain from window. We loved it and it would be worth a small upcharge ($10 absolutely, $20 maybe.)

Depends on your taste, like everything else. My favorite view...believe it or not, has been the back side of the Carnival Tower at Harrahs ( high floor). I love to follow the lights all the way out past Boulder Hwy. I tend to wake too early, I could sit there at the window and watch the sun come up over the mountains and start to light up the city....everyday. Paris red room fountain view was my #2 favorite. #3 was Flamingo looking south towards Bally's and the fountains. We all have different tastes. The view from certain rooms at MB or TI look like they would definitely be worth it (looking over the entire strip)...however, I never stay at those properties.

If it's important to YOU then yes, it's worth it.

It's fun to have but I've never paid for one and I've never regretted it. I've had good luck getting rooms that don't face the HVAC units even though they are in the rear. The views of the mountains from a high floor is inspirational!

I agree completely. I've had plenty of Strip view rooms over the past 29 years, but have never paid extra for them. These days, I don't even bother requesting a particular view and might look out the window one time out of curiosity. However, it was an entirely different story during my first several trips and before hotels starting charging for such things. The worth of the view, like almost everything else in life, DEPENDS.

Easy answer - you are only in the room to sleep, so it does not matter.

REALITY answer - it is always so great to look out the window and take it all in. After 15-20 visits, we still love it.

I feel similarly about the Cosmo suites and Terraces. I bust a gut all year round and Vegas is on my terms so I want the best I can get. Nothing better than waking up undoubtedly at 6am and stepping out on to the Terrace and checking out the Bellagio, CP, Paris etc and looking all the way down the strip. Worth every penny.

I've been to Vegas at least 20 times and ALWAYS request a strip view...There is nothing like stumbling back to the room in the wee hours, 90% shit-canned, and having that last few sips of vino/vodka or beer while looking out over the Las Vegas Strip...Things that make you go "aahhhhhhh"!

I think the Cosmo strip view with terraces are the best rooms in Vegas, being able to see and hear it all is amazing. High floor you get the mountains too! If I did not get it free I would and have paid for the upgrade for these rooms. ($20 per night on my comp room) Since the resort fee is free I figure it is a wash.

Nothing better than sitting outside with a beer or coffee and taking it all in.

But it depends on property, I had strip view at Flamingo and was looking out at CP through Donnie and Marie wrap, not worth it.

I actually prefer mountain views. Partly because I see the Strip every time I walk up and down Las Vegas Blvd., which is a lot, and partly because after all that artifice and neon, what's the harm in taking in a little nature along the way?

Strip view was worth it at Palazzo when there was still a show at TI. Now the only Strip view worth having is at M Resort if there are thunderstorms predicted for the area. We've spent relaxing evenings just kicking back in front of the windows with a drink, watching the lightning strikes all over the valley.
