    Hello all,

I was wondering if you have to use your 7 Stars $500 Celebration dinner in the year it was earned?

I made 7 stars in 2014, and am taking my annual trip in December that comes with a $500 folio credit (we booked Giada again which we will charge back to our room at Pho and eat up the $500 folio credit). Since this is only a 5 day trip I will most likely not use two $500 dinners so I was just wondering if I can carry the 'Celebration dinner' over until 2015? My understanding is that you have to book the celebration dinner through a host.

    Thanks in advance!

Maybe this is different at each property, but I received a long paper slip out of a kiosk which essentially says $500 credit for food (alcohol and gratuities excluded).

That paper slip was good until March 31, 2015. I could use it at most restaurants, host was not involved.

I paid for alcohol with my rewards credits.

The previous year, at another property, a TITO like ticket came out of a kiosk, with the same terms.

You can use it through March 31st, 2015. I have also heard and read that it must be booked through a host, but in reality you can get a $500 voucher printed out at total rewards to use whenever you want. Interestingly, you still need the voucher even if booked through a host.

The celebration dinner needs to be used at one time, the folio credit does not.

The $500 definitely can go towards alcohol in Nevada, but cannot in many other states.

We are planning our next Trip in April of 2015, so are you saying that I'm going to loose the celebration Dinner if I don't use it in December (ie: Before March 2015)?

Yes, you will lose it if you don't use it until April 2015 (but unless they change the rules, you will have another one available for Apr 1 2015-Mar 31 2016 based on making 7 stars in 2014). It can be used in AC or Caesars Windsor, of course, if you can't get to Vegas.

Ahh, OK, I think I got what you are saying....I thought it was a one time thing. ie: the very first time you get to 7 stars only. So, since I earned 7 stars in 2014 I get one for the current year (That expires this coming March, and another $500 celebration dinner to use from April 2015-March 2016! The plan was to use the $500 Folio credit to charge Giadia back to our room at Planet Hollywood, but I think what i'll do now is use the $500 celebration dinner voucher for Giadia and send the wife and her mother off to the spa to eat up the $500 folio credit!

My experiences in Las Vegas have been completely different from what you all have experienced. We just used our 500 dinner 2 weeks ago and have used it for the past several years as well. I also confirmed with the total rewards department that this is the way that the process is to be handled. You are supposed to make a reservation through your host. Your host is then expected to contact the restaurant to authorize the comp with the restaurant. There is no physical slip that you as the guest will walk over. The wait staff would be aware we were on our celebration dinner ahead of time, and when the bill would come, they mentioned this. We asked for a paper slip this last time to make sure everything was square and they would not give us one.
Now, the $100 diamond dinner is done with a slip and is printed from a kiosk or total rewards will print it (it looks just like the free play slips you get). We have also always been allowed to include alcohol as part of our charge- just no merchandise. Maybe the rules vary by market or state, but we've only ever used this benefit in Vegas. And I think someone asked if this has to be used during your seven stars trip...the answer is no. It is a separate benefit; not related to your trip benefit.

Yes, my paper slip experiences have been outside of vegas, as whenever I go to vegas, I tend to have enough play to comp all the charges anyways.

So I've used them at the local casinos, to treat friends for dinner.

All my f/b charges to the room gets taken care of at trips end, but I'm just wondering the procedure for this dinner in particular...I think I may have my answer as I just got an email back from Total Rewards as I was typing this response..., it said:

Thank you for contacting The Cromwell!

It is my pleasure to assist you with your Celebration Dinner inquiry. You may use your celebration dinner voucher at Giada's. Simply stop by the Total Rewards Center and an agent will print your voucher for you. You can then give it to your server. The voucher does cover alcoholic beverages. Please let me know if I can further assist you.

    Have a lucky day!

Thank you for choosing The Cromwell!

GChrome -- it sounds like you have it all worked out for the 7 Stars annual celebration dinner. I just wanted to let you know that the 7 Stars annual trip is the same thing. You made 7 Stars in 2014, you have until March 31, 2015 to use your first trip. You can then take another trip during the period of April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016.

    G,

We are in a similar situation as we both became Seven Stars for the first time this year. I used my $500 Celebration dinner gift in August. I had actually made the reservation before I became Seven Stars but once I did I told my host and he put it into some system. I used mine at the Ruth Chris Steakhouse at Harrah's. I had to go to the Total Rewards desk at Harrah's and get the $500 voucher -- it was written out by a boothling -- and then I gave it to the server. I thought I had an overage but my host apparently did something in advance that covered the overage.

And yes, you have to use this by March 31st, 2015 but you'll get another one to cover April 1, 2015 through March 31, 2016.

We'll both get two of these Celebration dinners, one now and one after March 31, 2016.

Two Seven Stars trips ($1200 travel credit and $500 folio credit), one now and one after March 31, 2015. I also understand two annual gifts, one in now and another after March 31, 2015.

And ditto regarding Seven Star signature event trips, one now and one after March 31, 2015. I couldn't book one for this year so my host is working on getting me free play (I hope $500) for my upcoming trip, but I'll take a Seven Star signature trip next year.

The one thing I'm unclear about is whether I get a second Diamond aspirations travel credit ($750) or whether that was just one time, in the year in which I hit that aspirations level.

Awesome, I wasn't aware that I get to do the 7 stars trip again next year, sweet.

I also never took any 7 stars signature event, they we all gone by the time I got to 7 stars, well except for the vegas one in October. I'm pretty sure that I'll get nothing in lieu of not taking the trip as I haven't heard a peep from my coded host since February (Hunter has been looking after my trips for me, and soon will be coded as my host, but currently is not)....

Same boat as you. Everything was gone by the time I became 7* except Tahoe trip in August but I had a 10-day VEGAS trip for August and October had no interest. I learned from these boards that folks have received slot play in lieu of an event. My host is checking on that now so I would definitely ask.

Let me know how you make out with that. although I don't want to be bugging Hunter about these trivial things when he is not even getting credit for my play yet!

Was told by a host at Horseshoe So IN that CET will discontinue the $100 Diamond celebration perk but she was unsure if that is the case for 7Stars..... I am Diamond but would never make 7Stars....ever. So, guess I will just assume this one will be my last unless they change their minds again...lol.

This is how I have always done it too. PH host gets reservations for me at Gordon Ramsay Steak, and says to just show up. Dinner and drinks all covered. I just leave tip. I have done this twice with the 7 star trip for Super Bowl weekend, so we still had that other 500 to spend too.

Funny, multiple people at CET told me a host had to make the booking and no voucher was needed. I did this (at NOBU) and when I got there nobody knew what I was talking about. I went to total rewards, got a voucher, and it was accepted no problem. As usual, if you ask different people at CET you get different answers.

I just did the $500 celebration dinner at Caesars buffet last month. I had to go through my host, who called the total rewards booth, had them print out a voucher and deliver it to the buffet. When I showed up to the buffet in the 7 stars line my voucher was waiting for me on the counter.

Yes, that is the magic of CET! No one knows much of anything. All of my trips are riddled with problems. All of them. And I'm 7*. If this is how they treat me, I can only imagine how a smaller player is treated.

The Vegas Weekend of Oct 23-26 was a signature event. If you participated, it would count as your event and I'd be surprised if you get anything extra. I know the cruises were sold out early, so I can understand your lack of choice.
