I have read a few older threads about booking the $750 airfare credit for the diamond aspirations level 2. What kind of time does Passport need (or take) to get the airfare booked? My line of work prevents me to use the airfare in DEC, JAN, FEB, or MAR. So, basically my only option is NOV travel. I found flights that would work for me (11/14 - 11/16 - 2 weekends away). Is this something I should attempt to get booked, or just chalk this airfare credit up to 'no good for me'. This is the 1st time I reached the airfare credit level, and I really would like to take advantage of it (even though I was in Vegas last weekend). Thanks for all the input in advance.

I sent full details of a flight that I wanted to my host. I included a copy of IDs(passports) for both passengers. Passport was able to book the flights the same day.
I also included frequent flier numbers for passport to include. The process this year was much quicker than last year.

My suggestion is that if you want to go, then book it. If you aren't that thrilled about going but want to take advantage of the free airfare, then I probably wouldn't go. If you go, to keep up your daily average you'll have to put some time in the casino. It'll cost you more in time and money, and it would be a waste if you're not having a great time.

I wish they would let you use your aspiration credits through the term that your tier-level is good through. I don't know why they don't. I usually don't go between January and March to take a break, and I get to my aspiration level on my last day of the last trip of the year.

Top suggestion is to include every little piece of information possible. No abbreviations. I sent DL #23232323 and they thought it was Drivers Lic, vs Delta.

    Do it NOW.

I called Passport a couple of days ago to see if it would be possible to book an offer (not the diamond aspirations, but an offer that came with airfare credit that HAD to be booked through Passport) for November 17 and the answer was, "yes", so contact your host immediately with your chosen flights and have him book it now if you want to use it.

I didn't want to use the $750 diamond aspirations airfare credit to fly anywhere, so I asked my host if I could get a free play option instead. He got it approved to get $500 free play that I was able to combine with my normal monthly offer of $700 free play. So, if you decide you don't want to fly somewhere just to use the credit you don't have to completely let it go. Talk with your host about a substitution. (My friend was also able to get $500 for hers as a substitution, so I think it's something they do pretty readily.)

Thanks for the input. YES, I would be thrilled to go again - extreme Vegas Addict here. Wanted to invite my wife this upcoming trip since she hasn't been to Vegas since 2009, but she came up with some 'excuse' (she absolutely hates air travel, terrified actually). I may just look into a free-play alternative that I could just use at my local. Maybe I should just try to book airfare...Decisions, decisions...

Just a side thought - would there be a way to have passport book it for me, and I end up cancelling - would I have that airfare credit with the airlines to use at a later date? or does passport get the credit from the airlines?

Yes, as others have said just contact your host ASAP with all of the details. Justmare, GREAT tip re: free play substitute. I didn't know about that and I might have considered that option but don't regret using my aspirations trip to do a REALLY fast trip for GGWU. If no great gifts I'll convert my points for FSP and add that to my monthly offer of FSP.

With most airlines, not all... if you cancel a ticket, you are screwed. There is no credit to get back... Southwest is the primary exception to this.
