    My Trip Report

My wife and I stayed at the Excalibur. I like to stay at different hotels every trip. We have been going to Vegas regularly since 2001. It took till now to stay at The Castle. I'm not calling it Trashy. I wasn't expecting much so I was more pleasantly surprised than disappointed. The room was fine with a halfway decent view.

I got a good deal with Mlife including 1 night free. Kids are in school now so it wasn't full of kids. The location isn't bad for being near the southern end of the strip. All the surrounding hotels are easily accessible. I rent a car and the garage is easy to get to off Reno Drive from the strip or the back off Frank Sinatra.

The weather was beautiful. 85 to 90 everyday with no rain. Here is a pic from the parking garage at Santa Fe Station.

It's pretty far out on Rancho Drive but I like the mountain views and the buffet is pretty decent there. We also stop in at Texas Station and Fiesta Rampart on the way out. All have full pay video poker.

My wife had a great run at the Four Queens downtown. Held 4 to the royal and got lucky.

She cashed out and a few hands later got 4 aces with the kicker.

My big moment was getting dealt a royal at Arizona Charlies Boulder Highway. I was playing deuces wild and couldn't believe I got it dealt to me natural with no deuces.

The whole Linq area is pretty cool. Here is a look at the wheel with the pods coming in. The whole structure is bigger to see in person than pictures show.

All in all it was a good trip. Came home up about 50 bucks between wife and I. Flew Frontier with no problems. Direct flights both ways.

Next trip in December will be at Circus Circus. We have delayed staying here also but got a great deal including a Friday night stay. Just give me a clean room on a higher floor with some kind of a view and I'm happy.

Excalibur looks pretty dated all together. The pics of the room aren´t really bad. It looks like all the furniture was in one piece. And if the rooms are clean and everything is in working order it´s a good place for sleep shit and shower :D

    Thanks for sharing!
