Well that doesn't look bad at all. Kinda curious how long they will stick to the price range they're aiming at. I still find it hard to believe how much money CET invested in the name change IP to Quad and changing it again into The Linq so soon. Knowing the financial position of CET I wouldn't call this one of their smartest business moves. I think The Linq is better than The Quad but in my opinion they should've just skipped the Quad all together.

The rooms look great, the elevators have been revamped, the Linq is in a prime location, and the rates are about $20 per night cheaper than Casino Royale.

I'm impressed they totally redid the bathrooms!

The thing that would worry me though is that this renovation is still basically only half done. What if they get overbooked and you end up in an old IP/Quad room?

I think they almost had to change the name again, even if that was not the original plan. The quad had already developed a horrendous reputation due to the unrenovated rooms. The new product looks attractive and should enable linq to move up in the CET (and overall strip) hierarchy.

Maybe they should have approached the renovations the same way the Tropicana did. It would have saved them a lot of money rebranding the resort twice. And since CET isn't doing that well financially I kinda expected they would have given the rebranding thing a little more thought. The plans for the Linq High Roller were already in place when they started renovations at IP/Quad/Linq. But then again, it's always easy to judge after the fact (and from the outside).

Wife and I walked into the Quad this past weekend planning on playing there. Half the tables were covered with plastic due to some renovations In that part of the casino and there wasn't a PaiGow table for her to play on, so went elsewhere. When we were there in August the place was jumping. Not so much now. Was probably just the difference in the time of year.

At least the room pics look nicer than I remember them to be, but until they rip out the elevators and replace them, I'm not staying there. The one time we did stay there, we used the stairs half the time.

I for one am excited to be staying here in 8 days. I'll be sure to report on how it goes, though I'm sure someone here will beat me to it since I'm there 7 days after launch

I kinda think the Linq remodel is like the poor mans version of NOBU Hotel at Caesars Palace. Same low height bed, counter tops style desk area. The material quality definitely looks much lower grade, but built to take a beating. Bathroom looks like they used some better quality materials. I think they missed the opportunity to make a statement with the original design retro wall coverings. Instead they went with the Target Home decor product line. Just hip enough for the masses, but not enough to evoke a sentiment one way or the other. At least by the looks of the new lobby bar "Living Room" they are finally trying putting some color / cool styling into the place.

The doctor office beige walls with touches of pink around the place was the most boring looking casino I had ever been in. The old IP while disgustingly frightening looking, gave you a clear understanding you were in a dump, and evoked an emotion. While I never wanted to stay in the place after Superbowl 2005 weekend, I still remember the IP fondly in a guys staying at motel 6 weekend kinda way.
However in some areas of the[STRIKE] IP Quad [/STRIKE]Linq Hotel it still feels kinda bland.

I stayed at Imperial Palace in November of 2011. I never used the front elevators, i used the ones in the back, IMO they were as quick at others on the Strip no matter what time it was.

As far as the "new" elevators, i'm just responding to paperposters post about the elevators being redone at Linq. I would presume that if the elevators at Imperial Palace/Quad have been redone, especially with the knowledge that many guests always complained about the lifts, that they corrected the delay factor.
I will be in Vegas in 2 weeks. I will use the front elevators as a test to see if we can truly cross the front elevators off the list as one of the negative things about the property.
I was at the Linq in August and i saw a nice upgrade to the Casino, when i check out the Linq in 2 weeks, even though i'm not staying in their rooms, i've seen the pics and the feeling i get is the Linq is almost complete now (half the rooms and the pool area still haven't been finished), and the Linq will be a nice low budget hotel in the middle of the Strip. Many people tolerated the property because it was cheap and the location was perfect.
Now, with the last phase of the rooms/pool nearly done, many people will reconsider the old Imperial Palace to the new Linq as a home base on their vacation.

I booked there to check out the new rooms, I'm eager to see the reviews the remodel gets. I do agree with you Funk, I wish they left the design as it was originally instead of the generic wallpaper route they ended up going with

It probably ran an extra dollar a roll. They had to stay in budget or the room prices would go up.
