This weekend I was at Mohegan Sun, CT playing blackjack. During one of the dealer shuffles I stood up to stretch my legs and I glanced over to a nearby BJ table. I saw this guy playing while eating a Johnny Rockets burger. He wasn't making a mess, he didn't have a plate, no fries or drinks. But he kept a firm grip of his burger as he shoveled it In to his mouth while playing. And it's not like he held the burger off to the side of the table to reduce the risk of messing up the table, the burger was in hand and over the table. I've never seen anything like this before.

Are you allowed to eat meals at casino gaming tables? Have you ever seen anyone eating at a casino table game, outside of maybe a poker table?

I wouldn't handle food at the same time I was handling chips. Maybe the guy was playing big or had been there a long time.

Always amazed me about the cards, chips, and eating at the table when playing poker. Same thing but have seen it numerous time (the napkin only takes care of most of the grease / crumbs).

I see people eating at the gaming tables occasionally. I've never done this myself, but again I seldom play tables anymore.

I do admit to recently having a slice of cheesecake while playing slots over at TI. :)

Well, having a nice meal should be the perfect break from the tables. I really don't see why anybody would want to eat at a gaming table or slotmachine. There are enough hours in a day to get your gambling fix without having to combine gambling and dining haha.

At the local casinos here they serve food to you at the slots. not sure about the tables. They will wheel a cart full of condiments and napkins, the whole thing so you never have to leave the machine.

My local places don't allow food at the tables. Mints and hard candy are, though.

I have never ate while playing blackjack but it would not shock me to see this. When I am out and about in Vegas by myself (wife shopping or at the spa) and want a snack I will sometimes take it to a VP poker machine and eat a slice of pizza (or Pink's corn dog nuggets if I am at PH) while I am playing. Gives me something to do rather than sitting down a table to eat by myself.

When eating I want to enjoy my food.
When I am gambling I want to enjoy my gambling and maybe some drinking too, but no eating.

I've seen it done but would never do it myself. As mentioned, dinner can be a nice break from the session. If I'm really on a roll I'll go hungry. Missing a meal isn't going to hurt me any.

I heard someone talking about being able to order food at the high limit BJ tables at Foxwoods.... so if that is actually true then I don't see why Mohegan wouldn't do it. But then again it was just someone saying it, it doesn't mean it was true as I didn't see it first hand myself

When I was at PH in September, I ate a slice of the Pin-Up Pizza at the table (3-card poker). It was one of those late night snacks that hit the spot after having a few too many drinks. A new shuffler that was brought in wasn't programmed correctly so we had to wait a while for another new shuffler. Somebody at the table went and grabbed a slice for himself and me. When he came back with the slice, the new shuffler was just about to be installed. I had eaten half the slice when the dealer dealt the first hand from it. The floor person told me that I had to step away from the table if I wanted to eat. I kept eating and finished the slice during the third hand. The slices there are huge (and really good). But I used my left hand to hold the slice and my right hand to touch the cards and chips. Staying at the table allowed me to get an extra twenty minutes of play on my player's card without losing any money.

Actually some people like a specific machine and don't want to lose it. Other than bathroom breaks they don't want to take a break from the action. I have a friend who probably plays the machines (not the same one though) for about 17 hours a day when she is in vegas. Personally my butt would hurt to sit that long but other people basically go to vegas to put in that kind of play.

Many of these people like a specific machine because they seem to have more luck on it but I guess if they continue to lose they will switch machines.

I guess I would stay on a machine (VP, WOF, Mega, slots, etc.) if I continued to win. I once (over 15 years ago) played on a VP machine that kept doing well, I probably was on that machine for a good 2 hours. I wasn't winning a lot but had a number of flushes, Full Houses, etc, on a regular basis. It was a quarter machine and I probably won about $500 on it. But near the end I was getting tired (it was 4 in the morning) and making mistakes with hands so I finally called it a night and cashed out. I never see that happening anymore, that time I put in $40 and it lasted very long. Nowadays I put $40 in a machine and I'm luck if it lasts more than 10 minutes.

For a good laugh, visit the El cortez. they also serve you food while you are at a machine (not sure about the tables, guess they could do that but I hardly see someone playing a table for hours like I see at the machines). It's so funny to see the food coming, while they bring it on a cart they usually just prop open a small stand/table to put your food on and will leave (some) condiments if you request it.

Wow. That is something I would never do. I love food and I like to sit down, relax and enjoy my meal. If I'm playing a hot machine, I'm not leaving until it stops paying me. I don't care how hungry I am. I have a little extra padding so I can last a while. :)

17 hours a day on a machine. Wow, I could never do that. That would mean I wouldn't see anything of Vegas besides my room and the casino. I like to gamble for 17 hours in a row is a liitle too much for me. Besides that I have never been behind a machine giving me winning hands for over 4 hours. But at the same time I get why people come to Vegas to play the machines for the entire day. I love playing the machines as long as I get some decent play for my money (slot of bonus round and winners to keep me going).
