Hey everyone! I'm Lisa and I'm totally new to all of this :) I need some help trying to pick out venues for our wedding. The wedding isn't until April of 2016 but, I figured I would need to get a start on some research. I thought I Found a decent place to go but, then I read some reviews and I'm back at square one! I have tried to do some research online but, it's extremely overwhelming since there are a billion places in Vegas to get married. Here is what I'm looking for....

I am planning on about 100 guests
    Open Bar
Nice Venue and long reception (about 3-4 hours)
Wedding and Reception (doesn't need to be a the same place)
Somewhat affordable (I would like to spend less money on the wedding and more on helping my friends and family fly out)

I hope someone has some ideas!!! Any would be helpful and appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Lala

Congratulations! My first choice would be Bellagio, but that would most likely scrap your plans to help friends and family. One way to help them is to plan the wedding during a slow week...check convention calendars and make sure no big events are happening.

We got married in 2000 at Paris. We had maybe 70 guests. They have a very small chapel and a larger one, but I think the limit was less than 100. We had the larger one. We also booked the reception there, but it ended up that Evander Holyfield had a fight there that night, so our reception was at Bally's. It was on the top floor with a view. We had an open bar and it was a great time!
It was 14 years ago, so couldn't be of any help with price. A lot of the hotel chapels didn't accomodate 100 people at that time. We renewed our vows in 2010 at Viva Las Vegas chapel with Elvis and the Pink Cadillac. That was good 'ole cheesy vows and great fun! Not sure if they have any areas that can hold that many people, though.

We got married in November at the Valley of the Falls at Mandalay Bay - beautiful - great service, stunning location.

We were married in 2006 at the Venetian. Not bad but not great. We looked at the Bellagio but the terrace didn't fit our 50 guests.

My Cousin got married at the Bellagio but not at the chapel, she actually got married on the terrace facing the fountain. She had about 70 people and their was no seating for the actual wedding, you just stood at the top and looked down. It was really nice. Reception (with open bar) was at one of the Italian restaurants inside the Forum Shops. Really great wedding and she said it was very cost efficient.

That sounds amazing. Would you be able to get some information from her? what is the restaurant she had her reception at? I have been having such a hard time finding reviews for places. Thanks I appreciate it!

That sounds amazing! I don't want the reception to be beautiful for both my fiance and I. We are working really hard to lose weight (We have over 200 lbs to go between the 2 of us) and really want to enjoy ourselves while we are there.

I would like to do the Bellagio but, I'm not so sure that my budget would like it as well! We are planning on going next year to check out venues..... it's been hard to find venues and reviews to go along with them!

The only thing that wasn't great about it was, with the terrace being small, it was hard for all 70 people to see the actual ceremony. If you have 100, that could be difficult.

The restaurant was Trevi. http://www.trevi-italian.com/ Great choice in meals (chicken parm, some type of pasta and I think a salmon). Maybe the best bread I've ever had. Open Bar.

Another nice thing was I'm pretty sure they picked the song that played for the bellagio fountain and it was a nice moment after the ceremony where they, and their wedding party, looked at the fountain together as it did it's thing.

I just attended a wedding in Vegas. The Little Chapel of Flowers helped with all the planning and limos to pick up guests at the hotel. They were great.

My fiancee and I are in the midst of planning our wedding and it won't be in Vegas but early on she looked into it just as an idea and liked the Four Seasons. Pricing was around $200pp which is not really a bargain but it included a decent amount in the package plus they had the experience and ability to do a wedding in our cultural style. I kind of wish we had done that because if we did some destination we would have kept it smaller at around 200 people, now its turning into 700 people affair and so complicated. But if you're looking at venues in Vegas the Four Seasons looks like a nice option with pretty inclusive packages.

Someone on this board recently posted a reply I a trip report that had a really long list of venues and reviews. The trip report involved the PBR and had that in the title. A search of PBR would probably bring it up.
