Reservation code PNR04 came in an email last night and I'm not a member of "The Code" so they must have purchased my email address from someone. Gets you 40% off but the rates are non-refundable. That's quite a drop for a hotly toity snooty Las Vegas DB casino! Or at least one designed to attract them.

I arrive LV again on 29 November for a ten day stay, all at Aria. Just for giggles I checked two nights, December 1 & 2. Their little rooms came in at under $60 and suites at $260.

The pictures of the rooms looks nice, I did come out ahead better than a grand on my one visit a couple weeks ago but I don't think this is the place for me. Nor for others apparently! The casino was empty when I was there and now their rates are in line with the Orleans, albeit temporarily.

At least it isn't a dump anymore!

I stayed at SLS last week and it was nice. Rooms were great (was in Lux tower)! Casino was busy without being packed and restaurants all looked good. Plus playable VP!

    Massive improvement over the Sahara.

I contacted a host (via a link on the site) and got two free nights for December.
No play requirements, just a "DEAR GOD COME, COME... PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" kind of an offer.

Interesting -- did you have to provide any details about your status/level of play at other properties?

Also please provide link you used....I'd like to try the same thing if possible, if my play would warrant it. Also, do you pay resort fees on comped rooms?

I would imagine that due to it's location they must be having a difficult time filling rooms. I bet they are counting down days until phase one of Resorts World opens.

I am looking forward to visiting this though. I like checking out new places.

No, I just said I was coming to town, needed a room and wanted to stay at the new place.
    I'm happy!

It's on the SLS site. No idea on the resort fees.

Like many other Strip properties, SLS has been busy on the weekends - and not so much during the week. The level of business activity seems to be within the normal range.

SLS is already starting to lay off employees. I think they pink slipped 60 employees 2 weeks ago.

When I saw this video on Youtube I reacted like WTF????

I have stayed at Sahara during our first visit to Vegas and to be honest, we enjoyed it and didn't think it was all that bad (especially for the price we paid).

Wouldn't pay to stay there at this moment but with a comped stay for a couple of nights I would give them a try.

Thanks for that. The pictures on their site don't do it justice as to how God awful it is. I don't even know if I'd stay there with a comp.

I think the deal is the Sahara was so old that it's from an era of small rooms being the standard... new carpet, wallpaper, etc. is one cost... blowin'-out walls to increase room size a whole 'nother, The SLS's $450 million facelift only went so far. Half a billion dollars just doesn't go as far as it used to these days!

Well, although I can always appreciate a comped room, if they comped we this type of room I would say No Thank You. I'd rather pay before I'd stay in this room.

Well in my 52 years on this earth, I've stayed in worse than this looks and paid for it....I shot them an email to [email protected] to see if they would comp a couple nights right around Chrismas night. Can't hurt to ask. All they can say is no..

Let us know if it works. Might give it a try too if it works (but I'll ask for a different room type haha)

When I saw this video clip of the superior king room at the SLS Las Vegas I thought to myself this would be perfect for a cabin on a cruise ship but for Las Vegas, no way!!!!

Yep, a real "interesting" room..........LOL. The room reminds me of laying down a new carpet in an apartment where you have to move all you're furniture into a tiny space to do it. The only problem is they've already laid down the carpet but forgot to rearrange the furniture.

Me and my friemds could probably deal with a room like that. No way i could ever take my family in there though. They would go insane! That shower is absolutely terrible. Room looks like a really nice garage hook up. I still would stay there but just not withy picky family
