So, I am finally going to be able to get back to Vegas after a 3-year hiatus. I am trying to decide between these resorts. They are all within $50 of each other, so I am not concerned about the extra money or saving the little bit. My choices are Harrah's, Bally's, NYNY, Mandalay Bay, Planet Hollywood and MGM.

I have a preference to stay at a CET property since they have been good to me before with comps. I have been away so long, they have stopped sending offers. I really like the MGM properties, but I don't know how they are with comps. I plan to book something within a couple days, but a little advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

PHo is the best CET property after Caesar's.
It's center strip and easy to walk to the Cosmo and Aria etc.

I have stayed at PH before and liked the stay. I like that location as well.

Harrah's and Bally's have more of an economical feeling to their casinos, probably since they have no particular theme to them. Bally's is closer to the glitzy resorts like Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, and Aria.

NYNY guest rooms seem a little small to me, but I'm sure they have different sized rooms depending on which tower you are in or which type of room you select. When I stayed there a long time ago, I was in a small room with small windows. You can board the free monorail next door at Monte Carlo to go to Aria and Bellagio.

MGM has a large casino and nice amenities, and it has a monorail station you can use to go up and down the strip (actually the next stop is all the way to Bally's just before Flamingo Blvd). This monorail charges money so I would prefer to walk across the street to Monte Carlo and take the monorail there. I like staying closer to center-strip, because I like the view better.

Planet Hollywood draws a younger crowd with modern music. They seem more lively which I like. They have the Miracle Mile Shops attached which also adds to the very few restaurants they have. Their regular rooms are also small with small windows, but my host gets me an upgrade with a view of the Bellagio fountains. I also like the dealers in the Pleasure Pit and the dancers after 8PM.

I like the atmosphere and the tropical aroma at Mandalay Bay. They have an abundance of dining establishments including my favorite, Stripsteak. I think, like Bellagio, it caters more to the mature crowd (OK, older people). Although there's a free monorail to Luxor and Excalibur to get you to the corner of Tropicana and The Strip, it's still so far south and at the end of The Strip. Again I like center-strip so it's a bit too far for me.

Considering your preferences I would choose PH. Absolutely love the atmosphere of the Casino there.

I would choose CET. PH is nicest property you mentioned but if you plan on using self park garage, PH is set up with a very long walk in order to get your car…you almost have to use valet. Also, the music is a bit too 'club-ie' for me at PH. I like Harrah's for ease of access to casino/Strip/parking garage but most people would prefer Bally's-North Tower.

I chose Planet Hollywood. This will be my first repeat stay. All six other trips were at different spots. I liked my stay at PH a while back, so I figured I should stay once again. Thanks for all the input. I got a pretty nice deal considering I haven't been to a CET property in a few years. I am really looking forward to this!

Have to agree with this one, looking at the available info. Depending on what activities you have planned during your stay, if walking is a problem and what kind of atmosphere you like in a casino, the advice might change :)

Due to your preference with CET I suggested PH.
Great location to all the new stuff in Vegas.

MGM is basically my home base...but I get around 4 comp night offers from them per year. I just hit Pearl last year, going for Gold mLife this year. Monorail stop, plenty of shops, restaurants, etc.

I've never stayed at PHo, but always wanted to stay there. Love the vibe there, for sure.

If you are adamant about giving CET your $ then go PHo, but if you have no real preference, go MGM.

Be sure to check your 'Total Rewards' status on-line!
I'm pretty certain you'll find that you do indeed have comped rooms available to you with CET.
...and, even low-rollers like me have Bally's as one of the comped-room choices...(as well as Harrah's & periodically PHo.)

If you're looking for comps (which looks like your main requirement) you should eliminate MB, MGM & NYNY from your choices. From there it's an easy choice, as PH trumps Bally's and Harrah's.

I am going to try MGM next time. PH will be the choice this time. Can't wait for this trip.
